Greetings. 1st Time Tundra owner from Tucson AZ. :bananadead:
    Owner of a 2001 Tundra SR5 v6 17x,xxx miles.

Mainly used to head to the desert to "put holes in paper" and the usual large item haul. Occasional 91 mile trips to Phoenix for IKEA. :duh:

Timing Belt last done at 15x,xxx miles

    Recently had the following replaced:
    Steering Rack Bushings
Brakes (Need new rotors, current rotors on final turn)
    Upper and Lower Ball joints.

    Up next
    Carrier bearing and U-Joints
    Valve cover gasket
    Tie rods

Any other things to be on the look out for?

    Thanks.

    Welcome from Mesa.

Has the truck always been in dry climate? If it's from a region that uses salt to de-ice the roads, you may want to check the underside for carriage rust. (https://www.tundras.com/threads/early-1st-gen-2000-2003-tundra-frame-replacement-faq.54331/)

You may also want to do a fluid flush on the following:

    Steering - https://www.tundras.com/threads/power-steering-flush-how-to.85254/
    Transmission - https://www.tundras.com/threads/2006-dc-transmission-fluid-change.78227/#post-1982660
    Rear differential - https://www.tundras.com/threads/don...ar-differential-oil.90301/page-2#post-2277318 or https://www.tundras.com/threads/don...ar-differential-oil.90301/page-2#post-2277344
Suspension - @ 150,xxx miles, you may want to look in to replacing the shocks and rear leaf springs. Since you are primarily using it to go punch holes in paper in the desert, you can just replace them with OEM ones. With fire season in full effect here, it'll be a while where you can actually go to BLM land for that stuff.

You might also want to check this thread for a checklist of maintenance : https://www.tundras.com/threads/noo...ntenance-help-and-updates.84559/#post-2132185

    Awesome info here. Thank you.
Carfax, reported it was originally purchased here in Tucson, AZ and has only had 1 owner. I did get underneath to check the carrier bearing and u joints. no obvious rust, just dirt and dust.
Yeah, with the fire restrictions in play, figured now would be even better to get this truck cleaned up. the previous owners were filthy so I spent probably a week going through and shampooing and cleaning the interior.

Will review those maintenance threads and get to work.
