Intro: Finally said bye to the Tacoma I grew out of (well the family and dogs helped). Bought a '18 SR5 TRD Offroad. Hoping to add a little suspension and tire so I don't lose too much trail ability and fix up the bed area to work for bird hunting trips. Advice appreciated.

I made the switch after owning Tacoma's for last 15 yrs. Best truck decision I've ever made.

Welcome. You are gonna love everything except driving in the trails. The Tundra is much wider.

The only thing you might miss is the agility of the Tacoma. Other than that the tundra shines in every other aspect. And it’s very capable right out the door. I’ve proven it LOL

I'm most likely switching soon too. How does the ride of the Tundra TRD compare to the Tacoma TRD? I've always found my 07 to have a pretty uncomfortable ride. Potholes are hard on it, and I encounter a lot of them. I really like the look of the Tundra TRD but I want a comfortable ride more than anything. I haven't had an opportunity to test drive any Tundras yet.

Thanks for the welcome. Hunting over two Wirehaired Pointing Griffons this season (young one still in training), retired my Brit. Upland mostly, gonna try the little one in a duck kayak set up.
Hoping the Tundra holds up as well as the Taco on rough roads chasing Grouse and chukhar

My Tacoma TRD OFF-ROAD is an ‘07 also. The Tundra is a whole different road feel. Much more comfy. We’ll see how it’s off road chops hold up! Gonna make some suspension changes soon as I sell the Tacoma.

I went from a first gen Tacoma to a 3rd gen Tundra platinum. As you can expect, the creature comforts and the overall ride is much better and of course with 14 years difference, the technology is vastly different. Overall, I like the Tundra and where I am at now I need the room.

However, the Tacoma still sits out front - can't get rid of her. Going to see if I can start turning it into a camping/hiking/skiing/fishing truck and keep the Tundra for more City stuff. Time will tell if I can pull this one off with the wife!

I have a Britt and a Labrador. I don't hunt the Britt anymore because an idiot in Kansas sprayed him while he was locked up on a pheasant. Ruined him... he is gun shy now. Those Griffon's are awesome dogs.
