That's just dumb! So now going off-roading means you don't care about your grandparents?

They are primarily concerned around folks riding dirt bikes/ATVs getting hurt. Last I heard up to the closure, there were plenty of folks getting air lifted out of the park to the local hospitals due to injury. I'm thinking this probably has a lot to do with new/first time riders who just bought their new OHVs and are trying to get out and ride (the COVID-fueled OHV market is ridiculous right now)

Been living in Hollister for more than 31 years now. I raced MX for years and I'm a grandpa now but I digress.
Choppers are flying out of Hollister Hills with damaged dirt riders all the time.
Covid or no covid bodies get beat up there always.

Or you can partially blame it on the f***ing numbnuts that go into state and federal parks during gov't shutdowns (aka. no park rangers, no park services) and completely trash the hell out of them

I haven’t been to Hollister since covid-19 hit. Has it been at maximum capacity on the weekends?

Yes, recently, the lower ranch has started to hit capacity again, and I even saw the upper ranch hit capacity this weekend. I highly recommend signing up for the text service, by texting "hollisterhills" (without quotes) to 74121 : https://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1179
