Hi, since a couple weeks back Im the proud owner of a 2010 Toyota Tundra, and I have to tell you, my previous vehicle was a minivan from 2005, its an absolute delight to drive my tundra down the highway, the laws of mere mortals have ceased to apply to me.

    however, I have one question:

when I first got the truck (162,000+ miles) I would start the engine and it would be very loud, as if I had my foot down on the accelerator, and then it would calm down after 30 seconds or so (I assumed the noise level to be normal, as this is a V8 and I was used to a very lame minivan quietness) my wife insists that its too loud, and our engine is going to explode, too bad I can only upload photos to the thread, and no audio files. There are no engine light or codes, oil was changed recently, and air filter looks new, any idea what could be causing high RPM at start-up?

2k, then down to 1k, then up to 1.5k, and if I let it idle for 2 minutes or so, back to 1k
