Toyota Tundra 2005 V8 4.7 2WD code P0418 on. Manual reads secondary air injection pump Relay A control circuit. My question is, what is that I need to replace and the part number I need. And if I could do any testing and troubleshooting prior to replacing any parts are there any specific procedures to pinpoint what is bad. Your responses will be very much appreciated, thanks in advance.

My 2005 Toyota Tundra V8 4.7 2WD Crew Cab Limited Edition gave me no troubles at all before the 2 cat converters and O2 sensors were stolen. I had all fixed at a mechanic shop and the installer tried to reset check engine light but he couldn’t. Initially when I connected the scanner, I had P0031, P0051 and P0418 codes. I replaced both upstream sensors and the first 2 codes have been cleared. Now the P0418 which calls for secondary air injection pump relay A control circuit is still there. My question is any suggestions on how to proceed troubleshooting the system since there are solenoids valves, vacuum valves, relays and wire harness involved that will trigger the same error code and if I go ahead to fix it myself what are the part numbers I will need to purchase for that specific truck. Thanks in advance guys for your responses.

Welcome from SoCal. I think there are threads on bypassing that system, someone who knows more will probably be able to get you a link or more info at least.

Hi, Arnolda, welcome from SoCal as well!

I suggest you start a new thread, not in this New Member Intro section. You’ll get a lot more knowledgeable eyes on it if the thread title reflects that you need help with repair ideas for a specific issue.

A lot of us don’t read the new members threads regularly; I checked because you’re in my general area.
