OME recommends using their shocks & springs as they were designed to work together although a lot of people do use them with 5100s.

For the difference in 2-3", I believe this can be the difference between people measuring and/or the state of the original shocks/springs they are replacing. With my current tire setup, it's impossible to get the tape measure straight up/down as the tires push the tape outward which can lead to inaccurate results.

I've only recently installed my OME setup but I went with 886 because of steel bumper and future skid plates/winch. They feel great but I'm not sure the age of the springs/shocks I replaced. I am pretty sure the springs were stock (I'm almost at 300k) and the shocks were definitely replacements but couldn't find a "when". I also had a spacer lift before. As of right now, I am happy with the setup but like I've stated before the real test is over time. How do they last? :)

Anyway, I think the stock hub to fender measurement is around 20-20.5" and I'm currently at 24" with the steel bumper.

Below you can find a link that shows my truck as well as some others that have different lifts. There's a 5100+OME springs on page 1.

Greetings, I’ve got the OME front coilovers from toytec on my 2002 4.7 2wd access cab with no additional weight. Yes, the truck stats are nauseating but I must mention them. I have a measurement of 24 inches from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender flare. I also have SPC uppers.

I think another comparison to your question is; would you like $100 bill or two 50's. Both setups will serve you well.

    Lift .. tires.. rust..
    I've had both..

OME is much harsher for day to day driving..
BILSTEIN is more similar to a stock ride...

Honestly the Bilstein was way way cheaper.. ..
If I did it again.. I'd do the Bilstein again..
