Well here we go..... So i bought the truck 2 years ago now with a very minor clunk when heavy off-roading. Now its gotten so bad the if i turn i get a deep CLunk CluNk.

I just re did my inner and outer tie rods

Ball joints are great no movement

Re did Rack and Pining bushings

    Leaf springs are tight

C V joint has normal minor movement

Took of spare wheel and try and re create popping in the bracket (some ppl had this issue)

I can not re create the sound with shaking the truck or bouncing on it up and down. I only get the pop when the weight of the truck shifts from one side to another. I honestly feel like something is shifting like 2 inches one way then back. Never happens when accelerating and stopping straight.

If i drive in a circle nothing. the sounds is always from a shift in weight like driving up onto my driveway in a turn.

Nothing seems lose swaybar plus links.

Its so annoying... anything else i can try ? Ill gopro it tomorrow and post

Try spraying/soaking your leaf springs with PB Penetrant and then see if you can recreate the sound or if it goes away. I’m on my original rear leafs and had this problem you’ve described going up driveway aprons at slow speeds 90° turns.

I’ve discovered that the leaf tip silencer pads have worn and fallen off thus allowing the clunking of the tips. Was worse in extreme cold weather. Sprayed the leafs and the noise went away.

Did a jack leg fix with some composite shims from big box wedged into the tip ends with success. Need new leafs eventually.

Sounds like End links or the sway bar, doesn't hurt to check the steering rack... I had clunks in my car, apples to oranges, but usually when I turned or hit bumps at slow speeds, turned out the end links were slightly loose.

Had a similar clunking issue in my CRV. Like @blackdemon_tt stated, it ended up being the sway bar links going bad. Replaced those and no more noise.

Best of luck figuring it out. I have yet to find the source for an annoying ass squeak which I assume is the leaf springs

You should probably put the front on jack stands and start jiggling stuff... It'll make it easier in the long run...

I already did that everything is quite and smooth nothing is lose on the front end that i can tell. Wifes arms got tired from turning the wheel side to side. only time i can re create the sound is with movement in a turn or a bump.

typically when you get a clunk with only one side of the suspension hitting something first, its related to the sway bar. I know it may be a pain, but unbolt the end links and take it for a ride and see if the noise is gone. past this you may have an issue with a strut.. but i doubt it if it doesnt do it on a straight on hard bump

Double check the end links... the Impact can't get them tightened all the way... some have a hex center where you need to tighten it by hand, or it has a nut on the back end of the link where it needs to be held while tightening up the end link... You wont be able to replicate it by hand, you're right there, but it will come up on bumps and turns and its annoying AF..

my sway bar end links are about 2 months old ill take them off tomorrow but i don't think that's the issue. Also i forgot to mention before it got this bad it would normal be a lot louder and noticeable when n it was raining outside and the bottom of the truck got wet

my brand new end links started clunking exactly how you describe when they were 2 weeks old. warrantied them and it was gone. It does happen, before chasing a ghost, its the easiest to rule them out by removing them

What about the sway bar bushings that told the sway bar to the frame?

they can cause a bit of noise. by they'll usually rattle around more than clunk when worn. and the bushings are obvious when worn out

That would be my thought as well. Something in the struts or a strut bushing.

How often are there problems with control arm bushings on the Tundra? I know the LS430 Upper control arm bushings are pretty stout, but the lowers will make Clunking noise when worn.

hmm lower ball joints can cause a clunk and not have noticable play.. something to consider if pulling the links off doesnt fix it.

Skid plates can flex and clunk too. How much armor do you have? Worth verifying, but I'd be on the trail of the weight bearing point suspects.

In particular, my clunk was going on for quite a few years. I had the front end rebuilt and it still happened. Put on a new sway bar and it still happened. Straightened up the splayed rear leafs and put on new leaf keepers it still happened.

Researched these ‘silencer pads’ and discovered mine non-existant. Rode in the bed while recreating the clunk on turns and identified the sound was at the rear wheels. Only the inside wheel on the turn would sound off.

Only happens on slow turns going up an incline. Mine still occasionally does it with the jack leg leaf shims. Not as ‘clunky’ either.

The PB Spray helped me identify the problem by making it go away. Rear end felt slippery afterwards!

Do you have the stock leaf springs? What sway bar do you have?
