I recently filled up my tank, the gauge shows half tank but my tank is full. I was only able to get 13 gallons into the tank. I pulled the neg battery cable to reset but that didn't help.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to calibrate the fuel gauge?

Do you normally top off your fuel?

You may have messed up your Evap system. Others should chime in. A few here have had that same issue of over filling and causing a lot of problems related to what you are experiencing.

@T-Rex266 was right to ask if you normally top of when fueling. Caught my my eye so I chimed in. A failed evap system can cause weirdness, on the other hand the best thing to do in your case is go to the dealer and verify. I know....sucks.

Much appreciated........I figured I would get a check engine light in a situation like this.

I'll have dealer check it out next week.

I agree..you would think you'd get a CEL but then again it really comes down to what could potentially trigger a CEL from the Evap system other than a loose fuel cap and that is above my pay grade.....

Could it be the fuel sending unit? There was a post here a few weeks ago by someone whose unit went bad. I had a 46 gallon tank in my 2010 and could get another 3-4 gallons in it after the pump shut off. Did this topping off for years and never had an issue.

I recall seeing that post. Sending units can fail. Not a cheap fix.The topping off is only bad if you overfill enough for gas to get into the Evap lines and foul the canistor. That Evap canister is a bit pricey too.

    +1 fuel sending unit.

this happened to me on my 2001 tundra, and it was about $450 to have it repaired but it did fix the problem. the part is cheap but it’s hard to get to, which is why it’s expensive

but my truck was a 2001 and the OP has a 2014 so maybe not the problem but worth considering.
