    Hi All,

I went to the dealer today to get my new muffler/rear pipe installed on my 2010 CM 4x4, and was told, they couldn't install it because, the exhaust flange was too rusted out, and they wouldn't have anything to bolt too.

Do I have any other options other than buying new Cats?

Would a Exhaust Split Flange work? If so, what size would I need?

    Any other options?

    Thanks,

Sounds like you need to find a shop that isn't lazy. There are places that specialize in exhaust. Ask around locally.

You should just pull it off yourself (use lots of PB Blaster). Then use a grinder to clean up all of the rust. Spray it with a black Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer spray paint. Bolt up new exhaust. Done.

Its not bad enough for that thick of a metal flange to be welded all the way through. Its non structural so you really shouldn't have to worry.

    Hi All,

I took your advice, and found a 2018 exhaust/pipe take off, for $100.00, and went to my local muffler shop, and they where able to install this muffler/pipe for $150.00 bucks. My truck now sounds like a freaking LEXUS!!!! I can't hear any drone or nothing with this 2018 take off exhaust/pipe on my 2010 CM. Yet, it appears I still have the power, but I barely hear the engine, inside the cab. Not sure what Toyota did with the 2018 Mufflers/Pipes on the CrewMax. My only question now is. The pipe coming from the cats have some rust built up. Is there anything I can put on them to prevent them from rusting any further, or would I just have to purchase new cats?

that section is double wall. you will be fine for a while. I'd leave it alone until you actually have a leak
