Sitting in my living room and my truck alarm is going off. I've been home 15 minutes thought maybe I pressed the button in my pocket so I turn it off and put the keys on the table then boom again couple of minutes later again. Ideas? Its unlocked now.

Does yours have the add on security system from the dealer? My wife’s rav4 did this, exactly 15 mins like you said it would go off. Ended up finding some paperwork for the alarm in the car and when it does that there’s a sensor fault, ours ended up being a faulty door ajar sensor.

No sir nothing aftermarket like alarm only factory installed remote start. 15 minutes was the first the others have varied, started the truck and turned it off then a couple minutes and boom again.

You sure about that? Cause my 2020 TRD Pro doesn't have an alarm on it at all. I open, and slam to tailgate all the time with the truck locked and no alarm has ever gone off. Sometimes dealerships will install an aftermarket one for them to use at the dealership. Maybe they forgot to take it out?

Well, I wish you best of luck.. I went through this issue with no resolution because I couldn't recreate it with the toyota techs. Mine happened intermittently in the middle of the nights at random times for months straight. I ended up pulling this fuse to at least get the alarm horn to stop. It has since stopped and haven't seen the problem come back in about a year :notsure:

I pulled out the manual, and then did some research of my own. Looks like the alarm only comes on certain models - but that none of the alarms include impact sensors. Sounds like you either have a faulty door sensor, or glass break sensor that keeps triggering.

I think someone said similar thing happened to them and it was because an interior light was on or something. Lol

Just got home from an hour or so drive, didn't turn truck off, no interior lights are on. We'll see if this comes back. The only thing is there was no interval between going off it was very random as far as time between activation.

I've been home now for 2 hours and thought it was cleared up but it just went off. Guess I'll unplug the battery and remove the fuse that @YotaMan pictured. WTF!!

So it locks itself after a couple of minutes then goes off.

That’s not a fuse it’s a relay, but you stopped the alarm from going off and that’s what counts.

I pulled the relay out and after a couple of hours I thought all was good but the alarm just went off!!! This is annoying after. My 17 Limited never once.

Can someone give me an idea?!? As mentioned i pulled the relay and it's still going off. I MIGHT be able to get to my dealer Saturday but if I can't and if they don't know what to do then do I just pop the hood and unhook the battery several times a day? This is bullshit. I don't want to look like a GM or Ford owner popping the hood several times a day.

No rhyme or reason and no set interval. I didn't drive all weekend because of this and had the battery disconnected, today I had to drive the company vehicle for work (out of town) but the rest of the week I will have to pay to drive the company car because I'll just be in the office. This truck is my DD and I can't have this nonsense.

Again I did jump start a vehicle Friday before this started so could that be the issue? If so then what could be the problem?

Is this a dealer installed aftermarket alarm or a toyota factory alarm? Reason I ask is at work we had a Ford Escape that would do the same thing. They forgot to install a diode in the wiring and was causing it to back feed and trigger the alarm. It was just like you are saying. Would go off randomly when ever the hell it wanted to.

I just disassembled my key fob and as it was apart the alarm went off, I turned it off with the spare. I thought maybe the button was sticking. Spare has been untouched since new and in a drawer.

This is very ridiculous to say the least. It's gone off ~8 times since I pulled the relay a couple hours ago. Ope just went off while typing. WTF!!!

You are saying it all started when you jumped started another car. Maybe something shorter out in the alarm. Hopefully when you take it to the dealership they can replace the brain to the alarm and problem fixed

Unhook the horns, that's what I did before I found out about the relay. Your's maybbe different being a 2020 vs my 2018 for the correct relay
