    Hi everyone,

I’ve just purchased this 2004 Tundra and came across this forum. First of all I just want to say it’s a pleasure and I’m looking forward to learning lots from you folks.

The truck has 265,000km on it and seems to be in great shape! I do have a couple questions. I’m in Canada and I can’t seem to look up precious service history through the Canadian Toyota website with the VIN. Is there any way to find that information with a Canadian truck? Secondly if I do need to replace the timing belt and water pump could someone be so kind to send a link to a reputable supplier up here in Canada? Cheers and thanks again!

    Welcome, nice truck!

The Toyota Canada site will only show services done at the dealership, so if the previous owner serviced it elsewhere you may be out of luck. I had my local dealership look up what they could from my VIN since the website didn't work for me either. I think the dealerships use a different system for that, but my truck had only 1 owner previous to me who bought it new at the local dealership.

I had the dealership do my timing belt and water pump. If you want to do the work yourself, I can safely recommend Rock Auto for parts. Good prices and fast shipping. Either way, at your mileage unless you can verify it's been done recently I would make sure to get it done asap. Better safe than sorry.

@Outbound thank you very much for the information! I will definitely get the timing belt and water pump replaced ASAP. Just out of curiosity what should I expect if I choose to get a shop to do the work? Or more specifically the dealership here in Canada? I’ve seen a couple of our friends down south say around 1K is expected for that type of work. But as you and I know everything is more expensive here haha. Thanks again.

Not a problem! I just dug out my service records and I paid about $1200 for the timing belt and water pump job at the dealership.
