Almost forgot to do this

I came to this site looking for some advice and guidance on getting my hands on a well kept first gen tundra, and lo behold, I can finally say I can join y'all's ranks. Already gotten to know some folks on here but thought it would be proper to reintroduce myself and show off my new truck.

Atomicnugget here! Based in NJ. Been in the northeast most my life so I assumed I was limited to the rust buckets around me. Ended up finding a decent deal down in GA and made the long trip. I managed to find a seller of a used leer cap and met up with him on the drive up. Needless to say i think the color matches perfectly that even the seller was suprised.

I'd like to introduce my truck "Red Ted" as eloquently named by my seller's young daughter, so I thought I would keep the tradition going. It's a 2001 Limited Access Cab with TRD off road package (Sunfire Red Pearl) with just over 262000 miles. Granted, it's practically rust free and have had a ton of up keeping and maintenance on it along with fresh tires. Just gave it a fresh oil change and have a ton of things to do in the upcoming future. Just got the windshield replaced. My intentions are to go the OEM+ route and to use it as my daily and pass it on to my great great grandchildren lol.

Some things I want to do pretty soon,
    - grease the driveshaft
    - rebalance the tires
    - Surfaceshield (undercoat)
    - LED bulbs and restoration kit for my reflector OEMs (its pretty bad at night lol)
    - LED interior lighting replacement
    - Air filter replacement
    - That cabin air filter add on I saw on that random thread
    - Touch up paint correction on the bad areas to help prevent rusting come winter

    Some things I have planned
    - Timing belt/water pump (last done around 225)
    - LBJ (PPI inspector said they were good, but still)
    - Thinking about a fumoto drain valve, idk if im too lazy enough for that.
    - Work my way down the fluids list (tranny, coolant, etc)
    - headunit with backup camera
    - maybe linex the bed
    - TRD supercharger (jk.)

    Q.

    - I've heard from various sources never to do a tranny flush if you weren't the first owner or don't know the full maintenance history, that it is safer to do changes gradually to prevent dislodging deposits. Is this true? and if so are there any similar notices for any of the other fluids that I need to know about?

    - Any point in using additives or treatments such as seafoam?

    - How are the bilstein 5100? Would it be that drastically different to the 4600 (i think) that my truck came with?

    - Anyone know where I can get my hands on a OEM rubber bed mat for an access cab? :D

    - Is my frame Shifty' approved?

    - Why do dodge rams have 40 mpg? They have to be considered how they drive 30 mph faster than everyone on the road. :burnrubber:

Thanks and great to be here and look forward to interacting with y'all further.

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. Great looking truck, you couldn’t find anything that nice around here. I especially like the “optional” dog in the back!
