Just joined this awesome forum. I am a long time Tacoma owner looking to upgrade to a Tacoma. I live near Santa Barbara CA and I am shopping for a Tundra to pull my Airstream International 23CB. I am between the Tundra and the F250 but I really prefer Toyota. Any tips y'all can provide in calculating how much trailer a Tundra can handle, towing capacity, payload, etc would be helpful. Thanks! -Dave

Welcome Dave! The Airstream website says your trailer has a 664 lb hitch weight (with batteries and LP) so that seems reasonable for a Tundra. The door sticker on the truck you get will tell you your payload. Deduct your occupant and cargo weight from that to see what hitch weight you can handle.

I think we are all biased towards the Tundra around here. I went from a Tacoma to a Tundra for travel trailer towing purposes as well. I'm happy with my choice.

Cool thanks Matt. Here is the door sticker specs for the Tundra I want to buy and the window sticker with specs for my airstream. It looks like the tongue weight is 720 lb on the Airstream...??

Payload of 1,300 lbs minus 720 lbs of trailer hitch weight leaves you 580 lbs for people, cargo, and weight distribution hitch.

Always a good idea to check the actual hitch weight when loading up.
