I just bought a 2015 1794 and have already bought the 2018 headlights, fogs, sway bar, console safe, VLEDS, etc lol.

Happy with the truck with exception of something that might not even be a problem to you, but it sounds to me. Mine has 14k on it and it was bought certified. Whenever I put in from 2WD to 4H it drives nicely with the exception of turns and it sounds like its trying to grind. Had to stop and put it back to 2WD to fully park. Is this a problem or just how 4x4 operates? Thanks in advance

Welcome from CO! Is it a grinding, or is it wheel hop from running 4wd on dry pavement?

Welcome from CO. If you're switching to 4WD on dry pavement you need to be in a straight line or you'll experience binding from the driveshaft. Toyota recommends 10 miles a month to exercise the actuator.

Welcome. Hopefully you're not driving it in wheel on hard dry pavement?

Welcome. What all these guys ^^^^ already said. You can't be in 4HI and go slow around turns or what your experiencing will happen. You need to disengage 4HI.

Hello all! Thanks for the warm invite.

Yes, it's more like a wheel hop than grind. I am coming from AWD system and totally ignorant about 4x4. Tried consulting with the owners manual, but it was no help. Tried to do this when it was kinda snowing outside and it was already pretty wet out there. So, 4HI is only kept on when going at high speeds like highways and doing absolutely no turns or try to park in a parking lot? Sorry for the ignorance.

A little of this and a little of that.
Welcome from Las Vegas! Hope you like your new toy.

4HI isn’t just for high speeds, you can actually go slow too BUT just don’t run it on pavement and turn. You can run it in the dirt and turn w/o any of the “Hopping” you’re currently experiencing.
