I'm starting to think through my layout. One of the first things to decide is placement for the Ironman 65 liter Fridge/Freezer. I have a fridge slide for it... but am debating on whether to use it or not... If I place the fridge slide on top of the DECKED drawers, it's pretty high off the ground and I'm not sure the slide is actually that useful.

Here is a layout I am currently considering below... welcome your thoughts and especially pics from anyone who has done something similar:

Agreed. Just tested that in the position I have it in the photo above. Opens fine on both fridge and freezer side there. If I use the slide, I'll have to get a smaller mattress and offset it from the wall so it will clear the internal skeleton and camper shell. I'm reluctant to give up the space and have dead space behind the fridge offset from the wall

DECKED are nice but they take a lot of space. I feel the Bedslide gives better options as far as gear in the bed.

I've been planning one for a while, but just as I was about to start building it I decided to draw it up in OnShape first.

I still need to create the contour for the front of the bed. Then I'll play around with a few designs I've had floating around in my head for a while before choosing one and building.

I already have 2 sets of 65" full-extension drawer glides (500 lbs rating) and pull handles.

I'm undecided between building the case out of Baltic birch plywood or 1" square steel tubing with a birch plywood deck.

Nicely done on the sketch. A buddy of mine did aluminum frame with birtch over the top. I’m thinking fridge, maybe counter top and stove (possibly induction burner) and water. I may space the fridge far enough forward to place my Yeti solo for water near the rear door. Interested to see the rest of your sketches....

It's not a high precision model. I just measured several bed features with a tape measure and guessed on the non-essential dimensions. (e.g. fillet radius for the floor ribs and edges of the bedside contours, etc.)

The height and width of the wheel wells are pretty accurate, but the complex curves on the front and rear of the wheel wells are just approximated.

I found this setup on the Overland Bound YouTube channel a few weeks ago. It's pretty cool, but the 80-20 extruded aluminum he uses is pretty expensive and not as light-weight as I expected.

I like his design a lot. I'm just not too sure about his choice of materials.
