    Hey Guys,

I apologize if this has been talked over and over again but I didn't see a straight answer. I am looking at the Bakflip MX4 or the Undercover Armor flex for my next cover. I want to be able to use the factory deck rail system and the tie down cleats as well in case I need to haul furniture or larger items.

I understand that the MX4 has a lowering kit for the deck rail that uses the rectangular metal brackets, are those sturdy or flimsy? Not sure if Undercover uses a similar lowering kit or not.

Are there any other hard tri-fold cover brands that would meet the qualifications above? Thanks!

Um... unsure who made my brackets. I have an MX4 installed by the dealer and they also added the bed rail system but its lowered to fit under the cover. My brackets are very sturdy and I've used them a ton but unsure if they are the same from the Bakflip lowering kit. I haven't seen any flex and I've had them ratcheted down pretty hard. Some people here have just bough some metal sheet to make their own brackets.

If you already have the rails in your truck, they will be practically unusable without removing the tonneau completely. I was very disappointed to find this out, but removal of the tonneau is not very difficult, even for one person, so I am just living with it. I don't regularly have to use the tie downs on the rails.

Of course, if you lowered the rails, you could use them, but I didn't want to do that.

Well @&%$*!!!!! Where were you in early June when I was looking for just this style of tonneau?!? I am OK with my Undercover ArmorFlex but I hate that I have to remove it to have access to my rails!
