I took my 21 in for an oil change and was speaking with the service manager and he mentioned that the Ma Toyota still has no fix for the recall so theres chatter about changing all effected trucks with upgraded LED headlights .
He said it could start as early as March but we will see .

That would be sweet. Another poster mentioned that Toyota refunded him for led conversion

I would take that with a grain of salt at this time to be honest.

Don't think you will if Sept 21 is a build date. Just so you won't feel left out you should find you are subject to the power steering rack recall.

That would be nice. Many of us want to do it anyway and to have it done for free would be awesome.

Surprisingly enough, fixing design problems is not always as easy as snapping your fingers.

I hope they upgrade to LEDs. If I knew the headlights were different from the TRD off-road package I would have looked more into making sure it was on my truck.

This would be the easiest option. Any idea on how many vehicles are impacted?

Tundra234 what has Toyota responded back with about this after filing the claim for these headlight wiring issues. What exactly have they actually told you as of right now??

I was given a harness, NOT the LEDs I was promised. :(But AZ dealers have the fix.
Edit: Larry Miller, Camelback, and Bell rd have it for sure.

Interesting. As of February, my dealer told me there was no fix. I guess we'll see what they say when I take my truck in next week.

Ive read that its going to be a harness/ wiring fix. *NOT* Handing out $800 worth of new headlights to 200k trucks. I did the PRO LED upgrade because I wanted it and could. I wouldn't do it if I was expecting or needing to be reimbursed for it. Just some food for thought.

Toyota said that all claims have been put on hold until the remedy is released. The remedy supposedly has come out, but their site has not been working correctly for weeks.

Looking into it, I found a more descriptive narrative. If it's a harness change, it appears to be the main engine bay harness. I'm hoping I get reimbursed for my XB's. The site says that a remedy is available, but doesn't say what it actually is.

I just looked....those main harnesses start out at $2800. Just pay me for my XB's and I'm good.

I don’t know why they don’t just switch everyone out to leds for that price

If it's a harness problem, there would still be a risk of fire at the harness with LED headlights, wouldn't there?

Less amperage draw of the LEDs could keep it from being problematic?

I'm not an electrical engineer either; sounds reasonable to me but I'm not sure I'd want to necessarily rely on that.

If my truck burns down because I used my high beams while driving on the highway at night, insurance can buy me a GM.
