Had a faulty gauge cluster with a parasitic draw so I found an Optitron cluster to replace mine for $50 shipped.

Got the cluster and put it in, showed 160k vs. 83k on mine but the rest worked perfectly.

Sent it out for recalibration via EBay service. Got it back and plugged it in and the mileage is correct but the odometer mileage is blinking non-stop.

Has anyone run into this before and know how to fix it?

I did disconnect the battery and still the same result.

Did the eBay seller have any helpful info?

I lucked out and found an Optitron cluster with 2,000 more miles than what I have now, so I just need to drive a little more but I'm getting impatient enough that I might just send it out.

The ebay seller took it back and has re-corrected the programming again. It should be here today and I will re-install and see how it turns out.

Yes I sent the cluster back, it was programmed again and installed. All is working great and my drain appears to be gone. Looks like it was a bad cluster that was progressively getting worse.

Good to know if someone else, even me, has a similar issue where a mystery parasitic drain might occur.

In the old days, we used to hook up a voltmeter to the battery, then start pulling fuses until we identified the circuit and work from there.

I miss those days. It used to be as easy as replacing a fuse. I don't really miss the glass jacketed fuses especially when they broke when you tried pulling it out.

What eBay service did you use and how much did it run you?
