Tundras.Com has been great for information and upgrades.

As a way of giving back, I'm offering a daily check in and response to any questions related to the title.

Remember, I'm not an armorer, assessor, or distributor. I'm retired LEO that happens to have some additional training in both worlds, who happens to run a range and deals with the most restricted gun sales in the country (California). I'm also on the front lines of our little supply problem as it relates to DROS, 4473, PPT, IFT, ammo, firearms, and accessories. So let's compare some notes and clear up the BS.

If this dies on the vine, I'll simply delete the thread and stare at your upgrades like normal.

On the California level? From the current lawsuit and DOJ appeal?

Currently mags most be locked or the weapon deemed featureless. You can run all the evil features with the mag lock and a simple juggernaut kit or equivalent. 30 round mags are ok to possess and use provided you bought during freedom week.

Juggernauts separate the upper and lower and create a closed bolt system. It's a pita. Other contraptions exists. I suspect that all of this will go to the wayside once the appeal fails.

Evil features are adjustable stock, pistol grips, certain flash hinders and compensators, mag release, etc.

Ca level..thank you for the reply. I do have the juggernaut but have not yet installed it, my ar10 does not have adjustable stock, as far as mag 30rnd + how does the range determine if you have purchased during freedom week?

Haha glad you asked. The range can only determine your mag purchase date based on a date stamp (leave it to magpul), a receipt, or your statement. Magpul decided to code dates in the new line of mags. TBH... Most AR jams have been with juggernauts and magpul mags. The problem is the slight deviations in mag shape and design. The federal aluminum mags are ideal... No date stamp, anti tilt followers, and no jamming. The Jug will require an AR wrench due to that pesky detent spring and placement. Consider restaking the CN.

I'm in NorCal. We reload 9mm, and. 45. I THINK the owner is considering reloading 5.56 when new machines arrive.
We received. 40,.380, 9mm,. 22lr in box every two weeks... Approx. 5-10k roounds at a clip. Defensive (hollows) we have almost everything but 9mm. We even have 10mm. Revolver ammo is a straight unicorn. We have 5.56.no greens, just ball. Out of softies. 12g minis only. No slug or buck.

As far as updates, like toilet paper, they are actually starting to return to work and ammo is entering the supply chain. Reload equipment is super popular and prices unfortunately are rising. Primers went from two cents to seventeen overnight!

People are actually hovering around Big 5 for rifle ammo. No limits are the rumor. Gun shows are popular too, but stores will buy all of it and leave the individual with nothing. One store bought 50k rounds of 9mm for twenty grand!

Its currently 1/2 dead. I don't want to stray into violating any website rules, so PM me.
NorCal is really Fresno North to Shasta. I'm close to Turlock, Modesto, Stockton, Manteca, Tracy, Livermore area.

Well guys.... Not bad. More interest than I imagined. I'll check back this evening. Hope I was able to help. Remember if we stray to the "exotic" 48 state stuff and you want reality based responses to questionable items or mods or situations ... PM me. I think we can talk about laws, design, supply, mods, and everything else without interference. Just trying to keep things above board so this thread is ongoing and helpful. Thanks! Steve.

Nice post op. Big thumbs up. I feel like all these laws in Cali are hard to sift through and your knowledge is going to be helpful to a bunch. I’m lucky in Florida where guns are pretty wide open but travel out west sometimes. I don’t really bother shooting out there but you never know it could happen.

    Bump... Check in.

The million dollar question, Will the AJ CA. appeal backfire and create a judgement on off roster handguns and traditional AR15s, SBRs, and the like? Supreme Court decision?

    Only time will tell.

5.56 can still be bought at 12$ per box retail... This is up from 9.99
9mm reloads are hovering around 35$ for 100R FMJ. Big difference from $20.99

What makes an adjustable stock so scary if it simply enables smaller people to use a rifle?

The Armalite model 15. Or AR15 was originally designed as a varmint rifle 70 years ago.

    Thoughts on the Ruger/Marlin buyout?
Also, what's gonna happen with remington ammo?

    Wasn't Marlin under RA?
I think JJE offered 65/70 million for Remington Ammo. I'd wager they'd keep the name, different owner/owners. I'm not concerned. Ammo business is alive and well as a MARKET, mismanagement is another thing entirely. Lol

I'm excited about any new firearms that may come out though.

Just looked... Apparently Sturm Ruger picked Marlin up for a song at 30M last week.
    Cool.

A REALLY BASIC version is that Marlin, a US gun manufacturer famous for primarily lever action rifles for over 150 years, was bought indirectly by Sturm Ruger, a competitor. Ruger will manufacture Marlin under its roof.

Technically speaking, Jim's correction or additional info was accurate. Many companies have subsideries which creates confusion.

    Ahhh. Sorry about that.

Californians have been cautiously theorizing that the AGs appeal under Becerra and the 9th circuit concerning high cap mags could backfire, causing a Supreme Court review of 2nd amendment violations, allowing under conservative leadership, a removal of off roster and modified rifles to include SBRs to place California more inline with the other 48 states and "popular legal opinion/interpretation"

Thanks! Man, that would be amazing. I never understood the handgun roster....

How does your work handle 80% lowers? Years back when they were really popular, i looked into finishing an 80%er to put a pistol length upper on it, but it was skating that grey area more than i wanted to be in.

80%ers are simply unfinished/unserialized metal. The AJ is sueing the Feds over that too. It's still legal. Technically an SBR isn't, however you could easily attach a shorter barrel or shorter barrel and upper and still be a pirate. You could create an AR pistol with the brace (ironically the Feds didn't like this one) and remain legal. That's some thin ice skating in California however.. Of course it's legal everywhere else... Go figure.

The roster is a dumpster fire. California vowed to remove 5 guns for every 1 added, and they are hacking them up real good. Can't even find a single stack 9 anymore short of a shield.
