They're only .09 inches thick so they aren't noticable. Sorry for the late response!

I haven't tried to do it on this site so please excuse my ignorance. Does this site have the ability to allow the OP to put an update in the original thread title? If so it would be helpful once the prices / colors are available for order.

Question for the manufacturers rep. My new 18 has the chrome end caps from the factory. The main reason why I didn't have a problem with it initially is that I've noticed in my area of the country guys who have trucks with painted steel bumper suffer from major rot after a number of years. I don't see that with chrome bumper. I'm guessing the painted ones never get painted on the backside and some e-coat or primer isn't going to hold up over the years with salt on the roads. Honestly, who cleans the backside of their bumper religiously. Since your cap is basically a cover how do you keep water and road grime (salt) from getting trapped between the cover and the steel chrome plated bumper? I'm not looking to have my chrome bumper rot away.

Honestly, the chrome isn't the issue, it's the back side of the bumper that will be the weak link. That being said, if your chrome is pitted, you could have an issue, so sealing the chrome would be your only option. In my mind, that's up to the user to figure out.

My truck only has 75 miles on it so pitted chrome is not the issue.

Good question, and thanks for the info as well @Jengel451 . You're right, pitted chrome is going to begin to rust with or without the cover.

So to answer your question @Big Yota, the covers aren't sealed anywhere so water can, and probably will find its way behind the cover. However, since it also isn't sealed on the bottom, there is nothing keeping the water trapped. If anything, what the cover does is reduce the amount of water and road salt your bumper comes into contact with since there are limited points of entry, and it protects your chrome from getting pitted and chipped away which prevents a major cause of rust. BumperShellz were never designed to completely protect your bumper from rust, so it's always possible, but in the five years we've been selling these we've never had a complaint about increased rust. Let me know if that answers your question

Did our first test fit of the new rears yesterday! It just needs minimal changes to be ready for production! The color installed is the Textured Black TPO, so that will give you an idea of what it looks like and how it looks next to the stock black trim. We're getting so close to production now guys! Last things are the changes to this mold, tooling up the CNC, scheduling time with the painter and ordering enough material in for the initial run. We have our costs together, so once they are approved, I'll post pricing. I'm guessing that will be tomorrow.IMG_20190108_141736566.jpg IMG_20190108_134814082.jpg IMG_20190108_134938597.jpg

The color of the black plastic is spot on. Texture is slightly different but not noticeable unless you are 6" away. Good job.

So will all of them have this texture when molded? If painted do you lose some but not all of the pebble finish?

That looks awesome! I really like that black. Now I just have to decide between that and MGM. I think I may go with that black, but I do love my MGM.
