Who is doing it for you? Curious on the install quality as I may do it down the road.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    not sure...probably ~4 shop hours.

I'll circle back with final $.

The shop foreman came out to get the deets on this project.

he asked what valve body....I only knew WAT.

so the Asian dude*, behind him on the computer, looked it up....in like 5 seconds...he said..."this one?"

    yes!

so they looked up the install procedure...they were confirming that zero programming is needed.

    all is well.

it was interesting, because they were damn sure something had to be broken for me to want this valve body thing.

    I get it.

    I told him: I don't slip, I don't shudder & no engine lights

When I told him that I was trying to get in front of any issue the S/C make cause....he smiled.

*the young Asian dude was more excited about this than I was...I think he's one of those "Fast & Furious" type dudes.

Yes the 15% discount was made. Thank you all for your participation in this group buy and supporting C&C. I am out of office the rest of this week, but refunds will start being issued next week!

@bflooks keeping my eye out for yours today! Thanks for getting it back on its way to us. Have you gotten your engine running yet?

Yeah, buddy! A few hiccups along the way, but all is sorted and she's fully worn in. It's off having the last of the planned upgrades done now, actually. I was able to get the VB swap done right before then, so it'll be good for tuning session. :)

I just got the call...it's ready.

I'm gonna ask what the "issue" was.

I suspect/hope they didn't snap one of the snappy connectors.

I will give feedback as I put the miles on this.

I'm fairly in tune with this truck, so any difference will be noted.

If I had to guess, maybe something as simple as snapping a pan bolt or 2 or 3 or 8...

Seriously though, hopefully it was something as simple as just wanting to take their time w/it and not rush

    all is well.

the Valve body is barely noticeable

    I got the extreme

yes, it shifts a tiny bit harsher....but you wouldn't know it unless I told you.

Now, we'll see how it does on the drive to work in the morning.

need to figure out how to send the core back.

The “issue” was they were a low on trans fluid

    They didn’t do the trickle

then, once they got it checked, everything worked great

    Alright....

if anyone is sitting on the fence about the Extreme VB....don't be.

now that I have driven my standard, familiar route, I can drop some thoughts.

<preface - read this as if I am the Forrest Gump of forced induction.>

the shifts are even better than before.

see, the tundra would "slide" into the next gear.

while that is nice and comfortable...lather on a S/C and those squishy gear transfers ain't good - in the long term.

the shifts now are just a smidge tighter....in the best way...barely noticeable...but it's exactly what you want to feel.

    the larger pan?

trans temps appear to be running the same delta from ambient...~85-90 degrees.
I leveled off at 165 degrees on the hwy. about the same.

once the Africa-Hot Houston weather kicks in, I'll report back.

Two thumbs up for both the VB & the bigger pan.
