    Hi all,

Just got my 2017 double cab SR5 / TRD in blazing blue pearl. I would like to change the grill to a TRD PRO to cut down on the amount of chrome on the front. I also need to add lighting to the front of my truck. Can anyone recommend lights or mounting options? I had rigid industries 10" light on the front of my old truck and loved it. Looking for both distance and wide angle lighting. Those Amish buggies on the road are a real problem at night.
    Thanks
    Mike

A little of this and a little of that.
Mike, welcome to the forum from Las Vegas!! I have a 22" on the front grille guard and a 50" on the roof. I doubt you will want a grille guard like mine so it may not matter anyway.?.?.?.?

Welcome to the forum Mike. With a TRD pro grill you can mount a 40" bar on the lower portion of your grill. You can also install a 30" single row or double row lightbar in the bumper. Pending what you want. You can also install the 40" NSV auto upper hood bulge led. Or you can do all three like I did. IMG_6715.jpg

Looks sweet! Did you trim the grill mesh to install the 40" bar on the lower part of the grill? I like that it's flush and it's easy to clean the lens. That would be ideal for me. What brand light is that?

Thanks to everyone else for the pics and ideas also.

Yes I did cut the lower plastic mesh to fit the light bar. I also trimmed the left and right side of the TRD pro grill to make the light bar sit farther forward. I also used washer on my light bar mount to raise the light bar to the same height as the grill opening. That is a 40" Rigid Radiance light bar in the grill. You can use another brand or style if you want. Other members have installed their light bars behind the stock mesh instead of cutting the grill.

Side profile pic showing the mount. I did have to notch my brackets to allow the grill to fasten into the stock clip points. IMG_4929.jpg
It's also important to brace the center of the light bar to the center radiator brace. This will keep the light bar from moving.

The side brackets came with the light. The center bracket I made out of aluminum angle. Also the center bracket is what allowed me to set my lights projection. I kept adjusting the center bracket until I had the light where I wanted it.

Rago Fabrication just released a 42" lightbar and bracket for the upper hood bulge for $249! It's 12,000 lumens which is a lot of light. IMG_7535.jpg

My experience is great with Rago Fabrication brackets but I don't know on the lights themselves. I run Rigid for my light but there a lot more money for sure. What I've noticed on some of the cheaper lights is they can have a less focused light beam and the lenses can turn yellow from sun fade over time. I'm not sure how Rago lights will hold up over time but I know the owner is a stand up guy. I would suggest calling him and see if he has a warranty for the lights.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
More like dremel carving. Watching the install video makes it look pretty primitive. Then there's the comprehensive wiring instructions,"wire it up". I guess there's a reason it's cheap.

I was wondering the same thing about the wiring. I don't know if they have anything for the wiring included.
