Got hit today

Gonna get some under truck pics in a few

 

Looks to be about 3500.00 in damage with paint, new parts, and labor.
I'd get 3 estimates from repair shops in your area. Pick the one in the you like and submitt it to her and insurance.
I'd like to see what happens to you later. Wish you good luck.

 

Make sure to tell the body shop you think the wheel was hit too, they'll check the alignment and all that.

 

Oh yea forgot to add axle shaft as a possiblity to the list

 

Really hate that for ya, especially since it's a brand new truck. I feel your pain.

 

Car dealers will try anything to screw you. I have had a few vehicles repaired (2-3k damage) like this that I traded in and never had any issue with getting the value I wanted. Cars were always very well kept and in above average condition. I am confident they didn’t stay on the lot very long.

 

This happened to me in 2015. The body shop replaced the bumper and was surprisingly able to get the dent out without replacing anything else. Paint matched perfectly...never had an issue.

That's good news. Just got under and took pics. Problem is now there is a vertical wrinkle under the tail light. Right next to the tail gate. This blows.

 

More. Just so you can feel my pain. Lol.

 

That can be tough to repair. I don't have any pictures of it, but mine also had a vertical crease above the rear back wheel. It was all worked out perfectly with no use of bondo at all. I know the feeling of having to go through this, and it's deflating, but rest assured...it can be put back to perfect condition. That is a gorgeous truck btw! The best advice I can give, is to choose a good body shop to repair it...one that will fight with her insurance to get the $ they need, rather than you having to do it. I lived in Arkansas at the time this happened, so the shop I used is there.

 

my chevy was hit the same way...did hit the wheel. never drove right again.

RE: wheel position, one side has the wheel slightly more out on the Tundra due to axle position. We had multiple threads on the forum where people would notice it after getting new wheels.
maybe you just happen to notice it after the accident. disregard my ramblings if it wasn't there before

 

Had the same about 2 weeks ago. Look for a Toyota collision center. It's gonna need a paint job. It's expensive. They estimated mine for about $4000.

Go to the local Toyota dealer's affiliated body shop. They will use real Toyota parts and do it the right way. Oh yeah make sure they pay for a rental while yours is in the shop.

 

Damn...it did that kind of damage just by turning into it in a parking spot?

That sucks. At least she owned up. I've been hit before where they just drive off. Or give wrong info or fuse to give info.

 

She hit it pretty much at speed. She is from Taiwan, and had huge glasses on. But yeah, I agree. Shit folded like a girly man.

Would a heavy duty bumper have saved the day? I have been wanting a solid rear heavy duty bumper for a while now.

Yeah. I got super lucky that she came back.

 

Well have a claim and rental set up with Safeco. Had very reputable shop look at it recommending panel replacement.

 

Update.

In rental. Have best place in my area working it. Estimate was for pull and repair No dice Getting it re skinned on that side. And the idiot bent my toe hitch on that side Bed is coming off. All OEM parts are going on.

So. Maybe it's time to hit with diminished value claim?

 

100% go for diminished value.

 

Let me know how it goes. I’m still fighting for my diminished claim. Can’t find an attorney to take the case.
