So my truck barely fits in my garage with the mirrors folded in. I'm so tired of getting out and folding them. Backing in the garage, and then unfolding them after pulling out of the garage. I had the door panels off and took some pictures of the mirror harnesses. Can anyone tell me if I'm prewired for power fold? Maybe someone with power fold can pop the little panel off and snap me some pictures? It's very easy to remove and install the little panel that holds the tweeter on the front doors. I just need to know whether to order the mirrors and a switch or if I'll be more involved and order pins, wire, and possibly harnesses. Thanks in advance. 20191209_203233.jpg

I highly doubt you’re prewired considering you don’t have the switch installed from factory. My platinum utilizes every pin in that connector and yours seems to be missing at least 6 wires. I’d be 99% confident you’re not prewired. I have seen a pin diagram on here for what you’re looking for, but no idea what to search for to obtain it again.

To be honest I'm being lazy. There are plenty of posts and videos showing the process of adding power fold and the needed wiring. I guess I'll search and post back what I find.

Doesnt the platinum have the memory for the mirrors and possibly blind spot monitoring and a few other bells and whistles like puddle lights? Thanks for the reply by the way.

I do know my mirrors are heated and power adjustable but it seems the sr5 i had has by far fewer wires.

I dont really need the power fold tow mirrors. I'd love to have them but cant justify the price difference. When i had a travel trailer and a boat I loved the tow mirrors. But i sold the boat and the travel trailer so now I just need regular ole mirrors that have power fold and heat. Watch. I'll buy these mirrors and wire them up. Then in a short time we'll buy something to tow and I'll want power fold tow mirrors. That's just how I seem to roll

Exactly do some searches from my posts I installed power fold on my limited DC. I doubt your are "pre wired" and you will probably have to move some pins to save your blind spot monitoring, its a hassle but a fantastic mod.

I've got a 08, unfortunately no blind spot monitoring. Now that would be sweet. But i don't think adding blind spot monitoring is an option. I'd be up for it if it were reasonably doable but I'm sure there's alot involved other than just throwing on mirrors that are capable of bsm

I did a little searching but everything I found was on 3rd gen mirrors and options. I know they are out there for 2nd gens I just needed to do a little more digging.

Are the mirrors and wiring the same on 2nd and 3rd gen trucks?

You might get lucky but I think if the 3rd gen doesn't have it wired the 2 gen won't either, besides the write ups will generally be the same for the install.

Now you've got me curious. Can I just add bsm mirrors and wire them up on a 2008 and have bsm? Was bsm even an option on early 2nd gen trucks? Is the ecu needed for bsm in the mirror?

I have no idea, you would have to put sensors in the back bumper for sure, run the wires but I have no idea on the ECU interface. The mirrors you just run the wire from the mirrors to the new switch that has the fold button.

I think I have someone lined up already. He bought my camper shell and said he wanted dibs on the mirrors. I'll let you know if he decides he doesn't want them.

I have the parking sensors in the front and rear bumpers but I doubt those are the same as the ones for BSM

After searching adding bsm to 08 tundra that is not a feasible option. Radar devices need added along with many other things. Good thought but not happening. Wife's rx350 has bsm and I'm jealous of it. You get spoiled by having it. But i can't see paying thousands to have it.

It's a nice add but not a replacement of checking over the shoulder. If it was BSM over power fold BSM is gone, I park my truck in the garage and the mirrors must fold.

From what I'm seeing on a YouTube video and some other posts I do believe my door harnesses are prewired for power folding mirrors. The pink and gray wires are for the fold/retract? Beside the light blue wire. I'd love to confirm this and I'm sure there will be more to it than just throwing in a switch and a couple of mirrors. This is from the passenger side
