Hey guys, I blacked out my Chrome Grill last summer along with my headlights. I think I'm going to go back to the original chrome and might even do stock headlights. I plasti-dipped the surrounding of the chrome, obviously I'm going to start peeling that back to see what I have left. Anyway, in case there isn't chrome left and I need to replace the entire grill, what do you guys think of the "TRD Style" grille, that says "Toyota" in horizontal lettering. Or should I just go with the original? Trying to gauge the census here. Feel free to send pics or ideas to get the chrome back... Thanks team.

I vote to keep it black. But then I’m biased... Either way you win, with that sweet ride!

I like your wheels :D. With the darker color of your truck, I think I'm on the Chrome side. I am actually thinking of going the way of matching the paint color on mine, but mine is Silver so a lighter color.

I agree with what has already been said, either way you win, you have a beautiful truck.

    Keep us posted.

I could go either way with your truck. Both look good.

Now since you are looking for advice:

I like chrome. I also like color matched all the way, but it has to be complete.

    So I vote chrome.

I knew I wasn't alone, bought some chrome door handles and mirror covers, haven't installed them. (that mean I can sell the black stuff for more than I bought the chrome?)

Go Chrome! Old school always comes back around.

I like the chrome but some colors, at least to me, look nice when the chrome has been replaced with matching paint. Mine's silver and I really don't care for the 1st gens I see driving around that have painted bumpers/ grill. If it was black like yours I'm not sure which way I would go.

The UV rays effects on my headlights are just starting to show. Do you know if your black lights were cheap ones from ebay or a more expensive set? I was thinking about buying replacements but was worried I would be disappointed with cheap ones. I doubt I would spend the money for new ones from Toyota and buying used lights seams like a temporary solution. If I do replace them then I would have a set to play with if I decide I want to get HID projectors.

Are the door handles painted or is it the textured black?

I'm still on the color matched thing myself. Keep it black. And if you go back to stock headlights I know a buyer for those lights...... This guy. Right here.

They're the cheap ones from Ebay. Actually very easy to install and haven't had any issues thus far!

Ha! Maybe so but as for me, I've never been a fan of the "Go Goth or Go Home" look of most "cool" vehicles these days.
