cross shopping a GMC with a platinum tundra, kinda like I did with the Ford Powerboost.

placeholder for review here, going today.

I'll toss my 2 cents before you post your review.

Owning a GM product, I can honestly say never again.

Wish I had done my research better.

Issues with the vehicle, TSB/bulletins, class action, dealership(s), Corporate, etc.

I had a few issues for sure with my Tundra, but the dealer and Corporate handled my concerns and complaints much differently.

Ya, not really looking to get into all that , there are people who can say the same about Toyota , but I understand

I don’t keep these things long term, this current tundra is long for me at 6 years ,

If it's helpful, the only issue my brother has told me about on his 2019 Sierra SLT is the fact that his dealer refused to include a ball mount in his purchase price even though he has the towing package. He has the 5.3/8 speed, though.

I want the AT4X , ut looks like the AT4X has different seats which is my biggest issue with GM.

rest of the refresh line up is the same shut seats

If I could find an AT4X I would take it. I love the gmc refresh of it.

The 6.2L is a monster, I'd immediately get the AFM delete/bypass

I’m in the middle of the test , going to stop for lunch

Super prelim , it doesn’t ride as well as I thought and the seats are total shit , driver seat feels like two bars running along side my legs that’s holding me up

Vented seats and parking assit is what is not on this one

It’s a retro fit so you’ll get it installed later.

Yeah AT4 Seats trash, I think the AT4X are new though

I would buy anything else before I bought anything GM related. Quality is about as bad as it gets.

let’s not turn this into a quality bash fest here, the build quality of this feels every bit as good as the new tundra I drove and In some regards better. It doesn’t have wind noise and mis fitted body parts

I was only trying to compare trucks for those cross shoppers

it’s more than the 2022 platinum tundra I drove and both are more than my 16 platinum

I just looked again, my current tundra is 1180 with a 51lb yellow sticker reduction so it’s 1129, less than my wife’s sienna I think lol

I’m not even taking this one home for the garage test, I’m going to cut this test drive short

I’m glad I finally found one to test so I can move on or jump in

You do you. I personally love how the at4 looks, but I know to many people with nightmare of a GM vehicles. I personally would want to risk it.

thats fine , I get it

It looks like I won’t be buying one anyways

the new tundra is also a crap shoot for qdr at the moment so it’s a wash

I’ll likely just keep what I have for now and wait until Toyota starts fixing some of this shit

oh well, I’m glad I got a chance to drive this

I will say, the wireless charging works perfect, stays connected and I think it even cools your phone lol

the tundra would not stay connected even if I held it there

    Couple more shots for grins

especially one for you tow hook dudes , ha!

gm does know how to set up a bed though, nice step in the bumper and a slick grab handle that folds right down.

lots of really nice touches and the refresh interior is nice , sans the seats which are awful if your a decent size dude at all

not really , there is no value in that for 10k more for nicer seats and auto steering which is not for me at all

I’m a pass on ford and gm this time around i think

Looks like I’ll be in my 5th tundra most likely when they start issuing some tsbs and updates to the software or other problems with all these wind noise and cels

I think we are largely past the bulk of the turbo issues now, maybe I’m wrong

One thing that would drive me nuts

the shifter has a button for park not a slide forward to the starting position , I kept putting it in reverse

    really really not smart setup

I agree with you here. I’ve always had a GM. After my 2017 Sierra never again. I’m also of the opinion that the active fuel mgmt should be recalled. They refuse, but more than half of the people I know with them (myself included) have had to replace it for thousands of dollars. Getting the Tundra to replace it.

    :puke:

Between that, the tailgate you can only open electronically and the 24 gallon gas tank, a GM 1500 would be a hard sell for me these days.
