Hey guys so far things are working out well with USAA and Safelite concerning my Windshield replacement. I am getting an OEM windshield since the truck is still considered "very young" as my insurance agent said. My question is this Safelight has a technician certified to recalibrate the radar thing on my windshield.
How well would you guys trust these guys with that?
USAA has a lifetime warranty on the replacement and any service needed including the recal however I just want it done right so I don't have to go again.
I am also worried I will encounter a new wind noise from the windshield but the place with the highest costumer reviews were chosen so I am hoping for the best.
    Thanks :)

I have has usaa for about 10 years now and they have always been very good to me besides 1 thing. Replacement of my Tacoma windshield. They wanted more for a deductible than is was for me to go to the same shop they chose and buy one myself.. I tried explaining that to the rep n they said that's there deductible price and it's non negotiable. I'm sure it's cheaper to pay deductible than new tundra windshield but this just made me think of it. Sorry for the rant because I'm sure it's no help haha

Safe Light did the windshield replacement on my wife's T4R Limited. They calibrated hers and no problems what so ever. I think that here in CO, Safe Light techs may be a little more proficient (at least in my area:D).

Yeah I saw the thread of what you had to deal with recently and I hope all is better for you now and I hope you don't have to deal with that again. Thanks for letting me know your experience on your end with your safe light techs hopefully its the same here in my city.

Safelite replaced the windshield on my 18’ and so far so good. I had to take it to their shop though

Ive had well over a dozen windshields replaced by safelight here in the Denver metro area in the past decade and never a single problem with any of them. They’re my go-to. Also, smart move going oem.

Good to hear since I will probably need a new one after dropping an unloaded wiper arm directly on the windshield. I was worried about the radar, etc and was concerned that safelite would screw it up.

My MetLife windshield insurance has no deductible. I do pay a few $ extra each month..

When I had Gieco I would have done this but USAA for the past several years all I have seen is decrease in my premiums year after year. I had hail damage a few years back that would make this windshield claim look like a dollar claim from a snack machine yet no increase in fact a decrease the next policy period. :) I am not worried. Now when I first got USAA about 11 years ago and my wife lost control of her car and hit the curb causing 2k worth of damage saw an increase in premiums from that on our next policy renewal though but that was under collision not comprehensive and the only time I ever saw an increase in premiums.

EDIT: I pay 180 (rounded) per month for full coverage on my 16 Civic coupe and 18 Tundra with rental and up to 500k in liability damage with $100 deductible on Comprehensive and collision. Went down from about 185-190ish last year

Just wanted to let you guys know Windshield replacement went well. I have the new OEM windshield installed and my worries are not there and overall not bad considering this is my first time ever needing to replace one.
