Yeah I may have to do it on the SC 2021 first but my RCSB will be my SC daily. I think I am gonna do it in phases. So many decisions to make and money to waste. O well, such as life.

Good info. One downfall is how Toyota started modulating the line pressure for mpg. Even though line pressure increases with load it still allows for a increase in allowable slippage as HP increases.

Are you talking about the flex lock or something else? The flex lock is easy to tune out so it’s not functional. It’s either locked or not.

If you occasionally do spirited driving and not a burnout sideways kinda driver you should be good. The VB upgrade is extra insurance with yearly to 20k atf changes. Debri is the VB killer. Magnefine filter can helpout too.

I've had Flex lock disabled for a few years. The SLT modulates line pressure from minimum to maximum pressure. I've made some adjustments to the trans that I could. I have a line pressure gauge that I look at. It drops psi right before a shift. My minimum is about 12psi and max about 125psi.

Or.... you could just gather a few more SC'd Tundras, and you could host your own group buy and negotiate free shipping...

Dang that’s a swing. I understand the logic though. Smoother shifts and easier on parts. Not good for performance though.

For my future Magnuson 2650 install here is a question on the OTT tune or any other tunes line SNIV for that matter.

As I am planning to go with bigger fuel pump, injectors and 76mm sniv pulley, can I cap the tune at 550, keep it very conservative until I decide to beef up the transmission with a valve body, down the road as I am doing everything in phases. And after the valve body is installed then I can let the tune rip and go to the max?

    What do you think? Doable?

The tune can't dictate the max pressure. Either you need to leave the pulley alone or never go over 1/2 throttle.

There has been discussion of a boost controller, I don't remember how that was sorted out.

How about go with the bigger fuel pump and bigger fuel injectors and leave the pulley alone until I beef up the transmission. Would this setup be easily tuned by OTT or SNIV?

And when I do the transmission then I swap the pulley to 76mm and let it rip tune.

Very doable with stock pulley and upgrade the injectors and pump with the tune. When your ready for smaller pulley they can up the PE and timing, if needed, after a data log.
