I did not need to hear his opinions as I opine getting into a truck with a 10 speed.

I had to warranty the crossover pipe and Magnuson shipped it out next day, no issues. They just asked for the Hotshot invoice number and purchase date.

 

When I was having IPT rebuild the trans we talked about the 6 and 10 speeds. He echoed a similar statement about EPA mandates striving for fuel efficiency but transmissions were failing in the longevity field.

 

What's not failing long term in the chase of fuel economy numbers?

So after driving a few times, I'm noticing during some hard throttling and medium to medium-high boost that my Innovate PSB-1 gauge is giving me the "O2 Cut" message early in the boost. I know that doesn't actually do anything for our setups, but it got me noticing that the AFR's tend to be a little slow to catch up with the boost. Is that delay normal?

I need to try it again a few times and actually count, but I think it's taking 2-3 seconds of constant boost (3-4 psi+) to get the AFR to really drop below 14.

 

Entirely depends how the tune is setup. What throttle level power enrichment (or other fueling logic) is set to engage, as well as what the delay timers (if any) are set to. Best to ask your tuner since they're all different

 

Just running the stock Magnuson tune at the moment.

 

That O2 Cut message is programmable, that info should be in the manual for it.

 

Stumbled across this FB ad. If his work is legit, that price seems 2 good 2 be true no? Of course, I am sure it doesn't include removal/installation.

 

I was thinking this:

3.1.1 Configuration using PSB-1’s interface buttons
1. From the main screen, press and HOLD the left interface button to
put the gauge in setup mode
2. Pressing either the left or right interface buttons will allow you to
cycle through the 10 different setup parameters in the menu.
3. Once the desired setup parameter is displayed, press and HOLD the
left interface button to make a change. Once the parameter’s
configuration has been entered it will start flashing.
4. Make changes by using the left or right interface buttons.
5. Once in setup mode, pressing and HOLDING both interface buttons
together will move you to the main screen. The gauge will revert back
to the main screen if no there have been no button presses for 15
seconds.

 

If legit that's pretty good. What frictions/brakes are they using? Are they using standard Transgo or reaming and using oversized valves/ relays if needed. A built valve body is around $900 and a good friction rebuild kit about $1000. So it's a possibility. Especially most are going for $6-$7000, not including removal/install.
My local shop wanted $6500 for a built ab60 using what I spec'd.

 

I'm assuming everything would be OEM except the shift kit, but if someone were to hand him the beefed up VB I'm thinking they wouldn't have a problem installing it.

I have some mechanical & electrical knowledge....and that knowledge tells me the same thing this transmission dude said.

to have someone tell me it's OK to run a Toyota transmission @ 230 degrees is learning disabled.

shit, choosing to run it at 205 when you could easily run it at 170 is retarded.


When I say I run my kit @ 150-170, I do so because it makes damn sense to run it as cool as possible.

I got more info:

They are using Alto Clutch Kit, Alto Piston Kit and are only reaming the TCC Relay Valve. They also replace the "Plugs" , and put in the Transgo Pressure Regulator Boost Valve kit.

 

Not terrible for the $4k price tag...

 

USPS delivered my ecu to OTT yesterday, @JustDSM will return it today and USPS willing I'll have it Thursday. I have severe boost withdrawals. Being Treeless for 2 weeks sucks.

I got a super high quality USB and plan to run RJ45 to the laptop going forward.



Also, all this transmission talk has me seeking the valve body, I messaged C&CO yesterday. Do I want Nomad or Extreme?
