Had an 11 SR5 and absolutely loved it, only reason I upgraded was I am planning a trip from Chicago to Florida pulling a camper so I upgraded a little with an 18 TRD Sport. My old truck had the 4.6 and I wanted factory tow package for cruising through the hills. Big issue I have is how different storage options are! Used to love the overhead with the three compartments in them. Anyone try putting this in their new truck? Is it even possible?

    Too many TRD parts
Not sure about overhead storage,(got sunroof in new truck) but I also have a second gen and when I bought my 3rd gen I didn’t realize how much of the storage was gone.

-compartment on front doors under door handle
    -driver side grab handle
    -storage box above glove box
    -dual climate control in sr5

I’m sure I will find something else. But back to your response I was in my over head compartment on second gen installing mic for a radio and there is a support brace that goes back midway to the center and it has inserts for the screws. Have you taken down your new one to see if that support goes back to the middle?

No not yet. Didn’t want to mess with pulling down headliner until I knew if it’s even worth doing

Something to consider is the overhead console that has the 3 compartments cost about a $100-200. I needed to purchase a front pocket thought I could buy it individually but it’s sold as one piece. I can’t remember if the dealer told me $123 or $193 and that was with a 20% off coupon. I ended up finding a front pocket at a junk yard for $6

If it’s a crewmax no staorage behind rear seats anymore. They don’t adjust like they use to. Only thing now is seats fold up and down and u can add a storage tray under the seat but if u have kids with car seats that won’t really work. I know first hand
