I've polled a couple of car stereo shops locally to see what $1500 can buy in terms of an upgrade to the stock JBL and its demoralizing. I am looking to keep the head unit, upgrade the speakers, add a sub, add an amp for the speakers and sub. Maybe I'm showing my age but I thought at that price point I'd be able to get a pretty kick ass system? Any Recommendations?

Crutchfield is a great source for parts and research. Kinda like the Amazon of car audio.

I usually find the part nunber for each component (door speakers, amp, sound processor, sub(s), enclosure) and put it in google and hit the shopping tab. Thats how i found the c2-650's for about $100 less (on amazon) per pair than crutchfied.

JL products are a little tricky, because there are only a handful of "authorized ONLINE retailers", so warranty claims may be difficult if you purchased online from a non-authorized retailer. There are plenty of local shops that are regular authorized retailers (non-online).

I just got a Kenwood Excelon DNX-994S w/ Garmin Navigation Head Unit for my SR5 Tundra and I LOVE IT !
My Rig only had the Stock Unit in it & the CD Player stopped working.
Can't decide on Speakers & AMP OR Rims & Tires after I can save enough money.
It sounds Great with the Stock Speakers & No AMP But.....
    SORRY !
I just realized this Thread was for 3rd Gen Tundras' Audio.
I can Delete if necessary !!!!
