    2020 tundra sr5 TSS. 4 x2

Been avg 18 in town. Highway can get 19 plus. I.drive about 10 over speed limit.

I bought truck used with 26k
Only thing I did was change oil I use amsoil synthetic and rear diff....again amsoil.
    Changed plugs to ngk iridiums
And k and n filter ...just filter

    When I tow...avg 16.

Anyone else do anything.different. I knew buying mpg wasn't great. But l like tundra. My third one.

I do believe amsoil makes a big difference. I habe a 2006 ridegli e with 390k miles. Still runs like new. Knock on wood.

Congrats. You probably have world record for best mpg in a tundra.

are you towing a tank full of helium downhill both ways?

are your towing mpg numbers calculated by hand or by the computer? Did you reset your mpg (hold DSP on the steering wheel for a few sec) once you startd towing?

Those towing numbers are nuts. i tow locked in 5th gear, and get around 10-11mpg towing a 3500 lb trailer.

Just fill it up when it gets low and drive it. MPG makes no difference, life is too GD short to worry about petty crap.

I am not saying you are lying about these mpg numbers but I certainly don’t believe them.

For a 4x2 that's about right and about the best you will get. Are you hand calculating?

I did manage to get 12.4 going from Laurel MS to Gulf Shores AL pulling the nearly 6K# outhouse. At a leisurely pace and since it was southbound I was going downhill. :)

My boat is 5000 lbs with full gas tank, 95 gallons. I get 10 to maybe 11. Plugs should not have made a difference with only 26k on them. They should have been iridium from factory.

Yep, and I filled last week for first time in anticipation of prices going up. I figured I would put 60 gallons in it but only took 56. I am probably set for spring and summer fishing.

Holy shit. I wish I got that towing. Granted, I have a small lift, bigger tires, 4x4, armor, etc. but I get excited when I see 12 MPG towing as 11 is more normal. That's freakin' awesome!

All about the wind resistance. With or without my RZR on the trailer I get the same general MPG. It's because the ramp at the back of the trailer is as much of an air brake as the RZR is. I'd bet a Taco would be about the same for me as the RZR.

No, that was in the boat. With a 95 gallon tank fuel load can impact weight.

I was so surprised when I figured this out. 14" empty ATV trailer (meaning light) and the mileage sank. Add 25mpg headwind and the mileage was so low I thought something was wrong with the truck. Those mesh tailgates are bad...has made me consider modifying the read gate to remove the mesh.

Also, the speed one goes with a trailer has a large effect...any trailer (except a shorty 3 rail motorcycle trailer that fits in the stream created by my topper).

I would be happy with that mileage. I barely get 16 when I'm not towing. When not towing, I get around 11.5 around town, and about 15 on the highway.

Towing my 4k lb travel trailer my personal best is 10.5 mpg, but I'm usually around 8.5 mpg if there is any kind of wind or traffic.
