    Hi All,
First post, first Tundra. Had Tacos and 4runners the last 20 years. Needed something bigger.

Picked up a 2015 MGM 5.7 DC that has a nice dent in the chrome corner of the rear bumper. I looked at the bumper thread and the rear bumper options are pretty disappointing for the Tundra IMO. I can’t believe they are so large/overly built. Something simple and clean is all I’m looking for.
Last resort is to replace dented chrome piece and paint black.

Does anyone know if companies are working on more rear bumper designs?
Hopefully something like the 4xinnovations rear taco bumpers.

The only front bumper I like is the Nfab MRDS because of its simplicity. Many of the fronts are overly designed as well.

My 4runner rear bumper - just super simple.

I just saw their mention of the front bumper they have coming out in June 2018! I do like that/their style.
Is there a rear they’re coming out with!?
Their Tacoma bumper is almost perfect!
(Minus so many lines on the corner)

Ranch Hand makes a pretty decent rear sport bumper for 3rd gens.

Thank you! That’s not in the 3rd gen bumper list either. LOL
    Glad I posted!

Looking from the rear of the truck (as in following in a car) they look great.
Then I saw this angle - which IMO I think they stick out too far (not as low profile as I’d like).

I totally agree, it doesn't look that great from above. But, they're suppose to have the hitch coming out soon which relocates it up and has it exiting behind the fod down license plate. I'm always dragging my hitch off road so moving it up several inches is a huge +. I need the hitch for towing though and it's really important as a stiffener for the frame.
You might check your area for a fabricator and go custom. In some areas you can go custom for about the same as an aftermarket bumper.

That's because that one is only for the 2nd gens. That bumper is the utility bumper. I thought N-Fab and Addictive Designs made some low profile/minimal look rear bumpers.

When you go to their website and enter your info (2015 Tundra) this is what they show.
I’m not a fan of diamond plate at all - reminds me of the 80’s to early 90’s. I can’t do diamond plating anywhere; and they used it in half of the bumper construction. yuk. LOL

Demello (Jason) was the one that always made the cool shit for Tacomas.
Kind of bummed they don’t have a rear (Tundra) bumper or 2014+ front bumper to offer.
The closest to Demello’s style I think is Pelfreybuilt.

Do you know if the new design will shrink that weird bulge? (I’m not into bulges lol :)).
And I’m all for moving the receiver up! Just as long as it’s still the first to hit ground before ripping the bumper off :D(safety net).
I think the fabrication I’m looking for would require quite a bit of bending on thin sheet, which may get expensive unfortunately. It’s hard to believe there are so many overly-bulky bumpers out there that really sell.
I could understand if they sold to older people, but I’m in that category - almost 40 years old LOL.

I don’t want my rig to be the one driving down the road where the only thing people stare at are your ridiculous bumpers. I want the exact opposite.
Shaved emblems, decent wheels tires that stand out, but also don’t scream “look at me!” same with bumpers, and grill - everything else. Just clean and well thought out.

This was my 2008 Tacoma 8 years ago. It was a little over-the-top but not too bad. Pretty clean.
It’s easier to add things when the rig is black, because it all blends in.

This is kind of the look I’d like to go for though. Clean/not too crazy.

This was my style for DD’ing a car the past few years. Was driving many miles a day so moved to a fun little RWD car for a while (5 years, 70K miles and only $600 in repairs LOL). (Lexus IS350) it was a blast.
But same concept on style, simple, clean, chrome deleted everywhere - and doesn’t stand out like crazy. LOL

My wife is driving my new Tundra back from her girls vacation trip right now. I don’t have it yet - but will in a few hours. I have a lot of work to do to it :D

Check out what Hard Notched Customs has. From what you said you were looking for, I think you’ll like their designs. They’re not plain nor overly built (unless you want to add some options).

Crazy! He’s local to me (Vancouver, WA I’m Ridgefield, WA) my home town (old Toyota guy turned diesel) and built my buddy’s LC bumper (and a friend of a friend).
That’s too big though, reminds me of Road Armor.

Is there a reason to have so much real estate on the top portion of the bumper? Like I mentioned I don’t have the Tundra yet so I haven’t had the chance to examine the underside. Seems everyone is creating a huge platform style bumper.
I don’t really care about standing on them - I’ve always crawled in the bed via wheel/tire.

I’m thinking the Pelfrey rear is the one.
Just not sure if it will match the prerunner style (MRDS) front. Guess people don’t look at both the front and the rear at the same time LOL :D

It may have just been a customer preference to have more of a footing. It may be worth going in there to talk to them to see what they can tweak to meet your preferences.

I am outside of Vancouver as well. I haven’t bought anything from HNC yet and I know nothing about bumpers or fabrication, but It’s my friends shop and I have heard good reviews from unbiased customers

Resi Kings, 35” Trail Grapplers on 18” Methods, ICON Delta Upper Arms, Front-Runner bed rack, Yakima SkyBox16, 2018 honeycomb grill, 2018 LED headlights, plastidipped bumper covers
That’s exactly what my LC buddy did.
    Not a bad idea! Thanks!

No. It's not a redesign. It's the missing part part to the existing bumper with the bulge. It's not the ideal solution but the best one I've found to go with my MRDS front.

Also, when I saw that bumper is person it didn’t strike me as being ‘too much’ for my minimalist senses, but I had a Tacoma then so I might not have been paying that much attention.

I am stopping by there tomorrow so I’ll take a second look.

I like that it has the brackets for D-rings but they look like they're a little askew and I'd want them parallel with the trucks center line. Maybe it doesn't matter from an engineering standpoint.
