Fuel recomendations

My new (to me) 09 Tundra RCSB came with advice on continuing running mid grade or premium fuel. With the latest fuel price numbers thru the roof I am considering going to low test. Not a flex fuel model here, just the standard one. Also not towing at this time. Will go with mid if that comes to be. So, anyone run regular and any noticeable problems?

 

I’ve only ran 87 octane since I got mine new. I know of some other would run 89/91 due to some engine issues.

 

87 is fine, is what the truck was designed to run

 

I don't see any reason not to run 87 octane.

 

Were you told to not to run 87 because it is tuned for a higher octane? That’s the only good reason not to.

 

Regular is fine assuming it’s stock. Nice to buy used from somebody who thought that highly of it though!

ETA Turned on Engine Masters this morning and they’re dyno testing 87 91 and 110. Conclusion was unless you’re detonating 87 like with boost there’s no benefit to higher octane. No surprise

 

87 in everything unless it makes BIG POWER.

 

Like every one's stated above 87 is what the truck is built for (unless its a highly modified motor or has a super charger)
