Long story short, my truck has always had a bog/hesitation from 2100 to 2600 rpm. You could really feel it pulling up a hill at that rpm, more so even in 3rd and 4th gear.

A couple posts here lead me to the fuel pump resistor, low speed high speed action in fuel pump not working as it should, so when pump is in low speed mode at 2500 rpm, the fuel pressure is slightly weak creating my problem.

Installed new OEM resistor, hesitation still remained.

Have unplugged the resistor and put a jumper wire across the terminal so my pump is always in high speed mode and the hesitation has been eliminated.

My question is has anyone else been running the pump in this mode for thousands of miles or years? I'm curious as I'm planning a couple of winter ski trips and was hoping some of your experience will give me peace of mind. Thanks.

I don't have mine bypassed but I wouldn't hesitate to run it that way. The Tundra is the only vehicle I've ever owned that had a resistor in the fuel pump circuit.

It may shorten the pump life but if you're having issues with pressure I'd guess your pump is worn as it is.

Are you still running your resistor jumped? Im experiencing similar problems and have a P0171 code, when you jumped your resistor you just unplugged it and ran a wire to both terminals of the plug?
