In this past Jan (I believe it's Jan. Been so long already), I dropped my 18 tundra off at the dealership due to Forward Collision Radar Error light on, then later determined it was triggered by Fuel Pump Failed. Coincidentally, a week after, Toyota had that fuel pump recall, and ever since then, my truck has just been sitting in their parking lot. They finally gave me a rental two weeks ago.

Anyone heard of them making the new fuel pump lately? Dealership was telling me they were told the end of April.

How in the heck does a Forward Collision Radar error relate to the fuel pump??? Was your truck running fine when you went in for the radar light? Only reason I am asking is if there is a link between the fuel pump and the front collision sensor then Toyota may just decide not to fix my fuel pump should I be part of the recall; I swapped the original front chrome grill on my 1794 for a color matched front grill from a Platinum so now Toyota will not warranty any problems with my front sensor because the grill on my truck is not the original grill. Found this out last December when they refused to do the latest recall on the sensor so just trying to understand if there is a connection here. Thanks

I can't tell you how they ended up determined that but it can all link together in the mother board since now everything is electronic.

There was a guy posting something similar to the same condition with the FCRadar a while back and he was going back for forth of the dealership for month. I bet the fuel pump was the culprit for that guy too.

The dealership was gonna pin it on me on "bad gas" which the bill they claimed could ended up to be $2600. Lucky me was, one week later, the Toyota sent out the recall so the dealership dropped the case.

Is this whole virus fiasco slowing down release of the new pump?

Trucks been there since Jan and you just got a rental 2 weeks ago? I’d be getting some free stuff along with a new fuel pump. That’s ridiculous. If they don’t do anything, call Toyota and tell them how you have a truck less than 2 years old that isnt safe to drive (and you are paying on it to just sit there?).

A Co-worker of mine has a 2013 Flex fuel. His pump konked out on him a week after he signed the papers with the dealers. I think a few days after that Toyota announced the recall.

I checked with Roman for him. He confirmed the recall, and that there were "hundreds of back orders." He never gave me an exact number which is fine. Might be a company policy restricting that. I am not certain if the orders Roman was talking about was just at Toyota of cool springs, or order tickets in general.

I assume the fuel pump is a Mexican made part, and mexican manufacturers right now are shut down. I've heard talk that they plan on trying to reopen soon. (Can't remember the exact date)

I have a ffv with the slow start issues. After a couple reflashes for alcohol, I paid for new fuel pump in Jan. Still waiting for pump. A pump showed up at dealer a couple weeks ago, but they were unable to verify that it was a new design pump. I passed on getting it installed.

Got my truck back at the end of April FYI. It sounds like they are making it for sure, but just gotta get to whoever is on their top list, like mine failed since Jan 2020.

I had some hesitation at ~2300 rpm under load a while back and the dealer told me it was bad gas. It kept hesitating and it finally threw a CEL last friday. Took it in and I just got the call from my dealer telling me I was # 895 in line, or something ridiculous like that, for a fuel pump on backorder. He didn't even mention a TSB on the pumps. I was under powertrain warranty still. He said come get your truck and try not to drive it when it misfires. Couldn't give me a date when the part would be in either.

I think what happened was that they realized the entire production had flaws which included the ones they already made to stock. So then they had to destroy the entire batch and started all over. Sucks, but hey, at least they owned up to it and working on it instead of letting it die then blame it on us.

So I ran my VIN and no recall yet for my vehicle.
Also I was reading that it was for 2003 - 2016 vehicle and then followed with 1.8 more vehicles up to 2020
    Insane

I ran my VIN and it came back with nothing

Hopefully that's the case, as mine's a 2020. With that said, if I have ANY issues @ all along these lines, I'll be @ the dealer with a quickness.

My 2019 SX. Is a February 2019 build. NON-flex fuel. It’s not on the list. I’m curious if this is a build date issue. or flex fuel issue.

My 14 has a fuel pump surge around 2200-2600. But my truck isnt on the recall list. Maybe I should call them and explain the situation?

I went in on Monday to have the oil changed for its regular servicing and they said they had the new fuel pump in. They said come back on Wednesday and we can do the replacement for the recall.

No I didn’t have any troubles with the old fuel pump.
