Lower price - wants these out of the garage!
My stupidity is your gain! Please read the not so fine print and look at the pictures carefully! Pics are intended to show the issues I am highlighting below.
(I like to think I have a solid reputation in life, and on here, and I want to keep it that way).

Selling 3rd Gen Spyder headlights and fogs.

    Headlights-
These would be ideal for someone looking to rip apart and retro or mod a set of Spyders - see why below. I bought these used but in good shape about a year ago. Were on the truck until about 2 months ago. I was going to rip them apart and try to fix them or do a retro but decided to just get a new set of Spyders.
--There are water marks on the INSIDE of the cover. They were filling with condensation in humidity and it was driving me nuts. I thought the seals were leaking so as you can see I lined the one seal with a line of silicone (can't see it when the hood is down of course). Still leaked. I then finally realized they never came with the rubber gasket for under the leveling motor. The good news is I think with the rubber gaskets for the leveling motor in place, they should not leak anymore (these will come with only one gasket, I needed the other one for my new set, you should be able to use one gasket from your lights). The bad news is in my brilliance, I decided to shoot some compressed air in the housing to clear away the dampness but it didn't work. It just displaced water droplets on to a different spot on the inside of the cover, that has now dried in the form of water marks, again, on the INSIDE of the light cover. To add injury to insult and vice versa, the compressed air kicked up dust from within the halos and other crevices and crannies and what not and there is now some debris/dust in the inside. Then!... for the last kick in the [blank], with these sitting on my workbench for a couple weeks, it seems like a SPIDER (literally, no joke, but a spider with an "i") decided to build a nest inside these things and there is a little spider web in one of them. He died in there too.

Long story short, I gave up. I don't want to see these anymore. I didn't want to rip these apart to clean them out, and deal with the hassle, and I am kind of embarrassed at how stupid this all seems, but I am sure someone can do so pretty quickly and have a nice set of lights.

--One plastic catch for the leveling motor was broken but plastic welded in place. It seems to have held good - no issues. I had my leveling motors in these.
--One of the clips for the cover was broken and plastic welded. Again, seems to have held up.
--There is a small scratch on the outside cover of the driver's side light. If I didn't know it was there, I probably wouldn't know it was there.
--They will come with the halogens that came with the Spyders.

    Fog lights-
I bought these used off a forum member. It wasn't a smooth transaction; I will just let it at that. I don't know anything about them except they are NOT plug and play (despite being led to believe they were), and the plastic housings are chewed up from the previous owner trying to pry them out (apparently). I never attempted to install these. I don't know if they work, they seem to be in good shape but that's all I know. The housings are a little chewed, although I am not sure how visible it will be. I didn't want to deal with splicing and and install and, and was pissed off at the seller, so I will be going in a different direction for fogs.

**The box is pretty big, so it may be a bit pricey to ship. I think we could work something out. I just want these out of my sight. I would also be willing to meet up in the Philadelphia, Allentown, or Scranton/Wilkes-Barre areas.

Liked for being honest and a good read. I'm sure someone on this forum is a pro at headlight retrofitting. GLWS.

Now I realize why several folks I know have had nightmare experiences with retro fitting. And I am a pretty handy and mechanical guy!

@Borgs if life wasn't so hectic I would have you over and we could retrofit those babies! Open them, clean them, toss in some HID projectors, a little wiring and bam!

Is there an adapter for the fog working you could pick up?

How about it, man! I don't even have time to wash and detail my truck. As for the fogs, there may be but I didn't put much time into researching. I think I am going in a different direction, perhaps a pod or something jazzy.

Mine are starting to have a bit of this also. I know a lot of guys on here have them on their trucks. If we are all seeing this, we need to get the word out. I know anybody looking to upgrade Tundra headlights are going to come across these. They’re probably the most popular aftermarket lights on the market, especially for the price.

I had put Spyders on my 2011 years ago, and the issues were much worse. I had them in a trash can within a year. I gave them another shot on my 2017, mostly because of price.

Indeed. I can’t say if the moisture was due to the seals or the lack of having a gasket behind the motor. I had moisture since day one on those. I have another set on now with proper gaskets in place and have no moisture, and they seem to be good - time will tell.

@Borgs, I agree with @MotoTundra. Put them in the oven break them apart, and clean them up. @TRS has a the Butyle sealant and moisture bags. Once cleaned up and sealed, I would put a good bead of clear silicone marine sealant 360*. At least you'll have a set of back up headlights. Good luck

    Sold! To me!!

Not to bump this for no reason, but I have been on lots of forums, and made a lot of purchases and friendships over cars/trucks. No joke, Borgs has been the easiest best transaction I’ve ever been a part of. Thanks a lot man! Can’t wait to get them in.
