I have a dilemma about the sway bar. What do you guys recommend to install? Front, Rear, or both Sway Bars?

Thanks for your advice. I believe the one with the sway bar is the TRD PRO, I have a SR5 TSS.

Every truck has a front sway bar. The TRD front sway bar is just an upgrade. It’s big and red and you would know if you have it.

You currently have no rear sway bar, so adding one here would be more beneficial. Upgrading to the larger TRD bar in the front is up to you.

Here’s the front TRD bar on my Sport.

The rear TRD swaybar will give you a noticeable handling improvement. The stock front swaybar is tubular, lighter and can flex.
The front TRD swaybar is solid hunk of steel and strong as hell. It will improve the performance of your truck but not as noticeable as the rear. If you can only put one on, then go with the rear swaybar first.

Yes the rear sway bar is a great add on.

Where is the best place to get the front TRD sway bar?
I know Sparks has a disclaimer about the bar already having paint damage from Toyota. Don't want a damaged one.

I think it’s hard to not get a damaged one. Toyota doesn’t put them in any kind of box or even wrap them with anything.

I ordered one locally because I got a coupon in the mail from the dealership. I went to pick it up and it was all scratched up. The parts manager gave me an extra discount because it was `damaged`. Paint scratches are nothing. You wont be able to see the sway bar with the skid plate on.

I have both TRD swayers on my 2017.

I would note that the front TRD swayer will not only tighten things up up front but will make the Tundra kind of "skip" off of small bumps in the road and not really "absorb" them. If you're at highway/interstate speed you want to know that. Especially if you're in the process of changing lanes and likely hitting the "bump" at an angle. Just be aware.

I’ve got both and the truck handles great. You’ll be hard pressed to find a front one that isn’t a little scratched.

I have no sway bars front or rear cause they’re for cars :anonymous:

I actually have a stiff spring rate on my lift and enjoy the flexibility of sans sway bar. On road feels good still even while towing. This is of course without any harsh highway speed crash avoidance- I’m sure in that cause I’ll flip uncontrollably into the ditch ;)

I had both and got rid of both. If you wheel your truck you're better off w/o 'em. I agree with @2ndgenny, they're for cars, they limit body roll but make the ride harsher.

He doesn't want any scratches under his truck, I'm sure he doesn't go offroading at all.

    depends on the use.
I added the rear sway bar first and it tightened the rear end...however when switching to extended bypasses and HD leaf pack, it started binding and I wasn't getting full benefit of the suspension upgrade. so now the rear sway bar is gone.

7" bds gone due to issues and switched out the kit to Readylift 6" and up to 7"
you'll see big difference in the rear. not so much in the front

Yep, depends on use. That rear sway bar can become a rock rake off road. Had a guy that used to wheel with us, kept telling him to pull that thing off. Surenuff leaving Buck lake he drags not 1 but 2 HUGE boulders out into the middle of the trail, right in front of me, effectively blocking the trail for half an hour
