I own a 2011 CM going to attempt to remove front metal bumper cover to get powder coated. Do I need to disconnect battery in case air bags sensor goes off? Need some input from members who already have completed this. Thanks in advance.

Always disconnect the battery if you are doing anything related to airbags, so yes. In fact, it is a good idea to disconnect it anytime you are messing with any electrical connections to avoid any arcs or shorts.
