From my 2016 SR5. Had been on my Tundra for 1,000 miles and still looks new.

Would be perfect for someone with a black or grey insert looking to swap to chrome.

Local pick up in the San Francisco North Bay. Non-locals pay shipping cost.

No hood bulge or colored trim included. See post #9 for most recent picture.

Light spot on the black lower is just a reflection of my garage door opener light. The lower is brand new, never used or even mounted.

Where is the broken tab located? Can you get a picture the broken tab?

Would it cause any issues sloppiness after mounted?

I'll try and post a picture tonight of the broken tab. I don't believe it would cause any sloppiness at all ...

I see your in the NorCal area, if your in Contra Costa County I could meet up with you.

OK, it only concerns me because I'm totally OCD over rattles and squeaks.

I'm in Folsom, CA but my daughter lives in Inner Richmond part of the city.

I can have her and my son-in-law pick it up if we can come to terms.

    Thanks

    Broken tab

From alittle further out so you can understand where the broken tab is located at ...(lower driver side corner)

Pic of the front driver side.

I can confirm that I felt no sloppiness from the broken tab. There are 10 other tabs holding the insert to the lower trim, plus 4 push pins on the top.

You should be fine, I did the same setup with my grey sr5 grill and the tab was broke in the same spot. No problems.

Okay, I've decided to keep the black lower trim piece and have it painted Sky Silver to match my truck. The Chrome center grill is now free to anyone local to me for pick up or for the cost of shipping to anyone in the lower 48.

New picture reflecting what is up for free (local pick up) or the cost of shipping (lower 48)

No trim, no hood bulge ... only the chrome insert.

You shouldn't have looked ... LOL.

Unfortunately, I'm working tomorrow and won't be able to check on shipping cost until Monday. As for your second question, I'd rather receive shipping cost before I sent it out. The box is rather large so I'm guessing shipping cost could be between $25-50, but what do I know ... It could very well be less. I'll PM you Monday and you can let me know if you still want it.

    63010 = Arnold, Missouri?

Right on AJ and welcome to the site! Out of curiosity what color is your Tundra? Just wondering what the grill might look like on it.

Its red. I think it will look good. The whole front grill would be chrome then. Mine has the grey insert now. At least I think it would look good lol.

The bumper end caps are chrome as well, so I am not sure if that would be too much chrome on the front, but worth a try.

Nice trailer! That bad boy looks incredible ...

As for the chrome grill, it should look fine. The all chrome grill and bumper caps will make it look like the 2016 SR5's.

Hey, if I'm not mistaken there might be a WTB thread where some is looking for your current grill insert. EDIT ... Nevermind, he's looking for a black insert from a SR or SR5.

    Thanks.

I am just hoping thats not a nightmare to change our the insert. Not sure if its just alot easier to find a whole and just swap out ? You did the insert, how complicated is it to change it out ?

Changing over the insert can be a challenge for some. I found it easy for some reason (I'm not a master at it, just lucky I guess. My son's GTI had a similar situation that required a grill swap over and I couldn't for the life of me figure out that one) on the Tundra there are 13 tabs and 4 screws that hold the insert in. Take the 4 screws out first and then work on the tabs. If you're lucky like I was I only broke one tab on my first try. Yesterday when I removed the black trim from the chrome insert I didn't break any. It would be a lot easier just swapping a whole one, but were are you gonna find one for the cost of shipping. Trust me, you shouldn't have much of a problem. Just be sure to place your grill on to a soft surface when working on it.

Also, just to give you some additional information. If you haven't removed the whole grill itself ... that is a very simple job. There are 2 push pins on each end and 4 screws on the top you will need to remove. Gently lift the top of the grill over these white fittings that the 4 screws go into. Then there are 5 tabs along the bottom that you will need to pull out and the whole grill will come out. Of the 5 tabs, the 3 in the middle are small push tabs and the 2 on the ends are longer tabs that might require you to wiggle the grill some to free up. There are some videos on Youtube you can always refer too if need be.

Great.. doesn't sound too hard then, just takes time and patience.

There is a thread on here of someone selling it as a whole, but I don't need everything. I just need the insert, so lets see how much shipping is, and go from there. I believe this gentlemen is asking $150 shipped, if my memory serves me right.

That's not a bad price for a whole one shipped. Does that come with the hood bulge too? I was alittle surprised I couldn't find anyone to buy mine at $50 plus shipping, but I guess it worked out since I've changed my mind on keeping the chrome after swapping out my headlamps. My plan is to keep my chrome trim and hood bulge in case I go back to silver headlamps. For some reason the black spyders just don't look right to me with the chrome trim. The black trim will go to the bodyshop to be painted Sky Silver next week. Matching hood bulge has been ordered and on the way.

Yes, it seems like it does. It's not a bad deal, I agree.

Color matching looks good too. I was thinking about doing that as well, but kind of don't want to spend all that money on a new grill and bulge. I think for now I will just keep it chrome.

I found that thread ... very good deal on his part. Much like him, my wife wants this big box out of our dining room. LOL ... Honestly for you, the difference would probably be around $100 savings and you wouldn't have even more extra parts lying around (unless you like having spare parts). Pulling the grill is easier than pulling the insert, but if your insert comes out as easy as mine did. You'd only be losing about 15 mins of your time. Either way, I'll get back to you on Monday with the shipping cost and we'll go from there. Have a great weekend!

    Hey,

I just wanted to inform you that I changed my mind. I will probably end up going with a TRD PRO grill and just color match it. Thanks for all your help
