    I m in process of building a new puter, and ran accross a video card I really want, (mainly for it s 4k support). Problem is it s no where to b e found. It s sold out every where I look. Thought I would post here, and see if someone has a line on it. It s a NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3070.

    I think you will just have to watch the usual places and get one as soon as they show as in stock. They probably all get some stock periodically but sell out in minutes.

    That's gonna be tough! Graphics cards are the scalpers paradise.
    If you aren't absolutely tied to a desktop, look into laptops with that card in it. They seem much more available than bare ones cards.

    If you are really hunting for a 3070, there are some YouTube live tracker videos that monitor stock drops. Just have it in the background while your working and hopefully you can get lucky.

    I did find one way of getting that card for a desktop, but it s at dell.com, and it s had by ordering a computer.
    It gives one several configuration options and that card is one of them. https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/cty/pdp/spd/xps-8940-se-desktop?~ck=mn
    Dell keeps redirecting link so here is an image.[IMG]

    The factory is down the street from where I live... if you want I could knock on their door and ask them about it, lol

    I’ve been reading that cards are in short supply everywhere. I’m guessing hardware manufacturers will get first dibs, might be a while before components are available to the rest of us again.

    Just had three machines built by Remis Computers that all had 3070’s in them. Two Ryzen 7’s and one ThreadRipper 24-core. He said it’s been tough getting GPUs lately. I don’t know if he’ll sell just components...

    Just curious, but what software takes advantage of 24 cores? Are you rendering something?

    Interesting. I never knew about the trackers. The moral of this story though;

    This video card situation is ridiculous. I m ordering a dell xps. I get the video card, and a decent puter in about week.

    HD Lidar scan processing - stitching/registration and analysis.

    the guy doing video editing at work keeps begging me to let him use it for that, but I don’t want his software on it. :D

    Yeah - for doing parts design and such, one of those would be sweet. We're doing terrestrial scanning and building structure/utilities. Lots of stationary shots that all get stitched together to make one big point cloud.

    Hehehe. Prices are going up on that video card. Meanwhile I ordered a Dell XPS Special Edition with a 11th Gen IntelCore i7-11700K 8 core proc, and the RTX 3070 with 8 gigs of GDDR6 memory for $2100.00
