I had an issue with my BSM where basically, it stopped working. I took the truck to the dealer and they thought the issue was the sensor. Due to the cost to fix the issue, I decided to order the sensor and replace it myself. Long story short, the sensor wasn't the problem, so I now have a brand new sensor that I do not need. This could be used for a failed unit or possibly as a replacement if you have been in an accident. The retail on the part is 1100.00, I will sell it for 500.00.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I can ship it out.

    Thanks,

Do you have the techstream software to do calibration?

That calibration has to be done after the sensor it replaced, and if there hasn’t been an accident it should be pretty straightforward.

He never installed it. Said that wasn’t the issue.

Right, this is a brand new part that wasn't used. My problem turned out to be a wiring issue so I still am using the original sensor that was on the truck to start with. Nothing had to be calibrated. And yes, calibration of the new part is required when replacing the original sensors.

So just 1 of the sensors around the truck costs 1100 to replace. Its gonna be a sad day when one of mine goes out.

Had one go out on my wife’s 15 highlander. Any idea if it’s compatible? Dealer ship wanted $1800 to fix one. It would have been $3000 for both.

From what I can see, the part number is different for a highlander.

What/where was the wiring issue located with your BSM system? My BSM is currently not working and I’m getting a message on the screen in my dash saying “BSM Error contact dealer”.This just randomly appeared when driving home from work one day so I’m curious if it’s just a wiring issue and not anything to do with the sensors themselves.

At the passenger rear along the top of the frame is where the wiring is located and a critter had chewed mine which broke the line and I had no power to the sensor. I did not have any error codes on the dash. My symptom was no light came on when pushing the dash switch in.

Damn critters! Bummer you bought the sensor before you found the culprit. I honestly have no idea why mine stopped working although I do remember possibly blasting a big puddle on the side of the road while driving in the rain that day… I’ve read that if the sensors get covered with mud or other debris they might not function properly. Seeing as how they are tucked up in the bumper caps pretty well I don’t think that would be the case, I just haven’t had the time to pull the bumper covers to where I can actually see if they are clean or not. I guess that’s my best place to start though. Thanks for the input and good luck with your sale. If I end up needing to buy a new one I will let you know for sure.

They are protected pretty well but I have heard that mud, snow and ice can interfere with them. Good luck!

I have my sensor in the garage cabinet. Removed it when the bumper was replaced

Any issues not using the sensors?
The winch bumper I have coming doesn't take the sensors. Thought about drilling it out to accept the sensors. But broke one today.

No issues because I turned them off on the steering wheel, otherwise you get errors. I would think one could get in the ECU and just turn off the sensors not used
