Flutter or diesel type noise when the engine is cold at idle and under load, at light acceleration. It exists for a few minutes until the engine warms up, then it quiets down. Does not seem to affect performance or cause any oil usage. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, plenty of threads in the forum relating to this.

    5w-30 will quiet it down.

Ugh thanks. Thought it was just me. Afraid to try a different weight of oil since the manual states to only use 5w20 and then change back to 0W20. Wonder is oil additive will help.

Toyota tells the rest of the world 5w-30 and even 10w-30 is fine… it’s all EPA

0w will never again be in either of my 5.7s.
