Do you guys recommend using Fluid Film or another rust prevention agent? Do you just use frequent car washes instead?

I just purchased a 2021 and want to do everything i can to protect it. I live in the rust belt

I have settled on NH Oil undercoating. I watched reviews on YouTube and I happened to have a place not far away from me that applies it for a very fair price. If you find an older video their older formulas weren't as good but the newest formula does quite well.

Car wash regularly and keep it painted. Fluid film works but makes it messy to do any kind of work. This is coming from a guy who has been through two bad Tacoma frames.

Amsoil MPHD. It's done my truck well for a few Wisconsin winters. Use it on my snow plow and camper frame.

Also, I can get it at cost if you're interested.

I apply 3 cans of this every fall. I’m not crazy fussy with it, but it does seem to work well.

I have used Fluid Film in the past and my 4Runner frame, when it was sold, looked like the day I bought it. But as mentioned it is messy working on it. Have not done anything to the Tundra yet but have a kit from Woolwax waiting for it, just have not gotten around to doing it.

I live in the rust belt and use fluid film religiously. It held up well on my Subaru , also cheap insurance against rust. Looking forward to seeing how it performs on my '20 tundra, but it's even more important for a vehicle with so much steel.

Lots of places in my area do applications for a reasonable price, way better than making a mess of your driveway (and yourself).

Fluid film is my go to, applied in bulk by spray gun/air compressor. It does wash off on some areas.

I use Amsoil HD on things like the front suspension where lots of water/slush hits the truck.

Make sure to wear a mask especially with the amsoil stuff, it’s very strong smelling compared to fluid film.

Another vote for Amsoil heavy duty metal protectant. I got 3 15oz cans shipped for $40. This will be my yearly routine.

Did you drop the spare and do the underside of the bed also? I used 6 cans overall.

Betty, im up in in Duluth and Amsoil has its main office in Superior. I was a dealer for Amsoil a few years back but not sure what my status is today. My best advice is to get a case of MP from a dealer nearby you and apply it ASAP, dont forget a respirator and coveralls.

This is for anyone interested in becoming a dealer. https://www.syntheticoilus.com/abou...askkPNwUALppQZcPMCKGg5y2zx2Xn9eUaAkCkEALw_wcB
