Hey all, thanks for the add
I just bought my first Tundra,
    07 Crew 4X4 all stock w/ 4.7L
    (Engine well not sure yet)
Guy I bought it from said he was driving down the road and the engine locked up
That was 2 years ago and it has sat in his driveway ever since
I am towing to my house tomorrow and will start digging in
I am assuming the Timing Belt is out, I have read through a bunch of posts only to realize I was reading about the Gen 1
Is there a difference in the 4.7L engine between gen 1 & 2
I would appreciate everyone's input here
I have been a mech for over 35 years, and although I am the Shop manager today I still know how to turn wrenches

Lots of good info here. I'm sure someone who knows more of the "mechanics" than I do will be along shortly.

    To answer your questions:

    Diff. between 2000-2004 & 2007 4.6L: Yes
    Diff. between 2005-2006 & 2007 4.6L: Not really.

2000-2004 was like 240HP or so. 2005-2006 was right around the HP rating of the 2007, I think.

@Kung Thanks for the reply can you also advise on the 07 4.7L if the timing belt went while driving is this an interference engine, and if so - how catastrophic of a failure
