This is the first paid detail job I've done. Friend of a friend. The owner said he'd paid some place closer to where he lives like 200 to detail it and it just looked like they spent a half hour on the inside and outside...so he referred him to me. Though he was happy, I'd have charged more if I saw the condition prior to accepting... straight up told him that I didn't do under the hood because that really wasn't what we'd talked about.
Work truck, 3 years old, lives on dirt road etc. Pictures kinda suck, none of outside it wasn't near as hard as interior. Drivers floor mat looked to be worn through where your right heel sits, turns out it was just matted down from gravel and lack of care!

What?...No "after" pics of the back floor carpet? :D

Asking someone to fix that deserves a $100 tip. But, he'll be back. Then, you can tell him that first time was an "introductory promo". ;)

I think of it was too ever do detailing as a paid job, exterior only... I hate cleaning my own interior, let alone someone else's. Looks great though!

Nice job! I wonder if the owner of that truck knows what rubber floor mats are though

    Some stuff
that sounds like a bit of a personal problem...

i hate having the inside of the truck, or any car, be dirty. i'll detail the interior before i do the outside. oddly enough, my office in the basement is an absolute disaster zone. i do my best to stay organized down here but there's stacks of stuff everywhere. cameras, cables, milk crates full of cables, batteries, books, a pile of paper that needs to get shredded, a pile of paper that's... hell, i don't even know what's in that pile.

Interior jobs can be a nightmare. I don’t really come across really bad ones anymore just because I pick and choose but in my younger days I dealt with a lot of them. I would definitely up your pricing unless it’s a direct friend or family member. Truck that size easy $400 but that’s just me and my opinion. I figure at least $50 an hour plus some for products depending on what I use.

To be fair, mine doesn’t generally get very dirty. Neither my feet nor my truck leave the pavement very often. I do keep towels and interior cleaner in the truck and wipe it down here and there when needed. Just rare that I actually do a thorough job of it.

I’d detail your interior maybe find an old fry or two but don’t imagine it ever being to bad.

Nice work! Based on the interior, I'm sure the engine bay detail would have been a big project.

I'm so uptight I wouldn't be able to sleep if the interior of my truck looked like that one. That was seriously nasty. Nice work.

Yeah, mostly just some crumbs from lunch. With the Weathertech mats I don’t even need to vacuum much.

Awesome workmanship! I sure hope he tipped well. If he lives on a dirt road the engine bay will be a job all by itself.

On the plus side, you could make a sales brochure with those before & after pictures.

Funny you say this. I told him he should look into some weathertechs. Save someone a ton of time next go round
