    Howdy Friends,

I've been a Tundra fan since 2001 when I purchased a bare bones work truck (in white no less). Later, I got out of wakeboarding and no longer needed a truck so I sold it to my Dad. He's still driving that beast after all these years. I think all he's changed are the tires, battery and radiator.

Later in 2004 I purchased a 2001 4x4 which gave me over 100,000 maintenance free miles. I sold it to a guy who was moving to Alaska. Having spent time in Alaska myself, I told him the truck was guaranteed to start at an ambient temperature of -51 degrees. It was so cold on the drive through Canada that the cruise control stopped working as did the defrost - we had to scrape ice off of the INSIDE of the windshield but the old Tundra started every time and never had an issue. Man, that was a great truck.

Now, I'm trying to figure out which Gen 3 will be a good fit. My requirements are:
    1) 38 gallon tank
    2) 4x4
    3) large V8
    4) double cab / 6.5' bed

I'll do some searches and then ask for advice once I've come back up to speed on the different models and options.

I almost forgot about the bed size - definitely no less than 6.5' which I think rules out the crew cabs.

    Thanks for the welcome!
