Hey, I got a 3 inch body lift for super cheap so I picked them up and now just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them with a lift already on the suspension?

Basically, it's a spacer and bracket kit with steering link.

I already have GX460 front brakes, Eibach springs, 5100's, JBA UCA, bootkit for CV's, drop kit for CV's, toyotech add a leaf for the rear, front and rear sway bars, 1 inch spacer on helper spring.
I also have the SOS rear sequoia brake kit being installed with 4.56 regearing and LSD.
Check my signature link for more on that...

I can't seem to find anything on kit's that have been installed just people selling them.
I want to clarify that this will lift the body up but other frame and suspension geometry will stay the same.

I want the option of running 35's next time I buy tires but for now will stay 33's cause I'm getting good mileage on the freeway now and still haven't installed the 4.56 regear yet, just planning for it and collecting parts for the other installs I'm planning to do all at once.

SO what are you're guys thoughts that have had them?

Anything I should watch out for?

I'm mostly worried about body roll at freeway speeds and wind effects.

Here is an example of the kit i'm talking about but I don't know what kit I got, still looking...

My kit seems a better quality then this: https://www.suspensionconnection.com/5563.html?gyear=2000

Many here don't care for the body lift but I had an 01 with 5" tuff country lift and 3" body lift running 35's. I really liked the body lift, it makes working on stuff under the truck so much easier. The body lift will not make the truck perform any worse than the lift.

Check out this video. Mike French is running a mid travel kit on 35's. In my opinon, I never liked the way a body lift looks. I think it would look cleaner with just a 3" suspension lift.

Body lift doesn't change anything under the body. It does make a lot of odd looking gaps though. You'll have a gap between rear bumper and tailgate, I'm pretty sure you'll have the front bumper but I don't know if it will affect the bumper cover.

That guy on YouTube I guarantee was rubbing like mad, he didn't tub and he went long travel pretty quickly after. It's well documented that the front needs to be tubbed to properly fit 35s on these trucks without more that coilovers and upper arms. The guys who have done it didn't chop up their trucks for nothing.

The kit that came for my truck had brackets for the bumpers. The bumpers are decoration at that height, most cars won't stop till they hit the axles

Yeah your truck was pretty high, bumpers won't matter much there. :D

Another benefit of the height, no bumps or scrapes in your paint from the Walmart parking lot

For me personally, I bought the cheaply 3 spacer lift for my 2001 tundra and it was not great, without the proper suspension components, you’re putting so much stress onto the ball joints and eventually the lower ball joints will fail, I already had 3 failed on me in less than 2 years which I now bought the proper lift kit

I dunno...isn't that the perfect height for shopping carts to wedge themselves on the undercarriage? :sawzall:

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

    You guys are awesome!

It looks like, my kit has bumper brackets but I'm doing custom bumpers anyway so not worried about the gap.

The main worry was that I wasn't overthinking anything and that this kit is literally to raise the body off the frame.

Meaning that the frame and suspension parts will sit where they're at now but the body is raised the 3 inches so the frame gap would be the issue.

I'll think about it when it comes to the time to install the rest of my parts.
I do like that it would be more accessible to working on the underside but we'll see...
