Saw a Cunmins Diesel Titan today. Too much chrome on it and back end looked odd.

Very much so Mat, I looked at one while getting tires for the wife's altima. 60k+ and when the saleslady came out I said
.. you would think that your top model truck, I think it's called platinum reserve would come with a spray-in bedliner. I will say the interior was top notch, that's about it. I have only seen one out on the road and I travel 180 miles a day . Only a Tundra for this salty dog

Used to really like the look of a mildly modded Titan, even if they weren't the greatest truck. The new ones look unsalvageable.

I've seen a couple up close at Tynan's Nissan here in Aurora. The interiors are nice. Lots of cool features/amenities that made our "wish to have" thread here. Toyota????? Hello??? Any one there???? Hello????

We recently had to trade in our Sienna for Nissan NV 3500 for extra space. I have to say I am very impressed with Nissan's build quality. Their brake size dwarfs the competition. Their doors, suspension, etc., scream out 'heavy-duty'. I thought their 5.6 in a 1-ton vehicle will be lackluster compared to Tundra, but it's a beast. Their new tweaked 5.6 is even better from everything I hear. I love my Tundra, but my 1st non-Toyota choice will definitely be Titan.

Those NV3500 are more ugly than a mud fence, but they do perform when you need load rating and comfort.

A lot of our delivery drivers/hotshots have these vans and they are quite impressive inside. Tow 9500 lbs and has a load capacity around 3900 lbs.

    Good choice @chphilo

Here's one picture right after I tinted the front window. This beast is longer than Tundra and about 8 inches taller. What surprised me was how it rode, considering it's 1 ton truck. Wife says it certainly rides smoother than Tundra. Power? We do have to be careful since this thing books.

That is what some of the hotshots say about them as well. Great highway runners that are smooth.

When we have major outages at work, we contract some of the guys from the east coast to transport important (heavy) parts back and forth. They like the speed limits out in the west.

I saw a black diesel XD Titan Pro-4 X and leveled coming back from our small hills here in CO. I have to admit.... nice....but at what cost?

The turning radius of Nissan 1-ton Van is actually smaller than most of half-ton trucks. Only tiny configuration trucks (like regular cab with short bed) have smaller radius. But more than on the paper, it feels so easy to drive/turn.

It also comes massive brake (14.2 vented in the front and 14.4 vented in the rear), the largest in its class. In comparison, Ford transit comes only with 12.1 inch brakes front and rear. Promaster's brakes are even smaller). My wife is really funny about the brakes. She test drove a Yukon once and right away ruled it out because the brake felt insecure. She feels perfectly content with Nissan's braking performance.

Parking it? Different story due to its size. It's 11.6 inches longer than CM Tundra and 8 inches taller than stock Tundra. We have to make sure various drive through facilities are high enough before driving through them, which I never worried about with my Tundra. We no longer try to find the closest parking spot when we go to a store. One way to keep physically fit, haha.

Back on topic, I watched the Titan XD diesel vs Gas. Pretty sad when a diesel gets beaten by a gas powered counterpart.

Sad indeed . Goes to show you looks aren't everything and that's if you think the new Titan looks good. There was a reason the first gen Titan came in last place in truck sales. Just like the Frontier. "Way, way last place".

Woudn't the extra weight of a diesel engine and lower hp account for the difference in that kind of test? I would guess if they have a truck pull competition, the result may have been different.

Maybe the results would have been different, but these trucks are built for towing and in this test the diesel failed. At 56K I would be not a happy camper.
