I joined the site a few years ago :

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/new-potential-owner.36646/

However as fate would have it, we got my wife a new ride since she drives the kids around more than me. So I've been lurking in the background learning and contributing where I can. Until yesterday, when I bought a new to me truck.

2016 Tundra Platinum in Super White. Clean truck with a good service record and plenty of opportunity. I drove it home yesterday (about 150 miles) and averaged 20 mpg going 70-75mph so that was a pleasant surprise. I haven't had much time yet to play around yet however so far I am loving it. I have a short list of mods to begin with:

    2018 TRD Pro LED lights
replace the missing the SD card for the navigation
Center console organizer (that thing is massive!)
Side steps so kids do have to crawl in (although I like the look without and at 6'6" don't need them)
    Shorter antenna
    Bed cover
    Bike mounts

Eventually some kind of an exhaust setup and maybe some new suspension (although the original is still really solid)

Anyways, truck got dirty driving back but here is a shot for now. It will be sad to part with my 3rd Gen 4Runner, but the family has outgrown it.

Congrats on the new ride; looks clean. However, you had better edit the above line before you wife sees it; or she may take a hammer to your new truck! :hattip:

Great choice, and judging by some other posts on this forum, the GX460 seems to be a popular companion vehicle to the Tundra.

Yeah, it is a solid vehicle and frankly could be a decent off-road choice.

    Nice Tundra.

2018 TRD Pro LED lights are a must.
Not sure the blacked-out Pro would look the best on your white truck with all the chrome.

For your exhaust, I'd research @dirtydeeds and his BAM exhaust.
Direct bolt onto existing OEM pipes.

Products Archive - Performance Without Drone (dirtydeedsindustries.com)

    You being a family man, I'd recommend a 10 or 12 inch.
Also depends on your towing needs.
When you're ready to look into it, call Keith and discuss your wants and needs with him.

Congrats !!! Have a 16 Plat as well and have never seen 20 mpg on my screen:(

... even baby driving at 65mph on trips the best was 14.5 or so. Must be the TRD duel exhaust ? Anyway love this truck regardless and enjoy much more than my previous 2019 sr5p 4runner. Enjoy !

    Congrats….Great trucks!!

I was planning on trading my mine once the new ones were here but after finding out it’s about $60g plus my 2016 tundra to get into a 2022 I have second thoughts. I still like it as much as the day I brought it home.

I upgraded to led lights both front and back on my 2016 makes a huge difference.
Had the pro suspension and exhaust installed at the dealer before taking delivery.

Honestly, I looked at the BAM options and not sure that is the way to go for me. My GTO was obnoxiously loud and I tamed that down to exotic sounding with a Bassani setup and headers.

I always wanted flexibility and with the next vehicle thought about a valve based exhaust like a Varex muffler where you can have some options. When looking I noticed they make a cat back for the Tundra but cannot find any videos or reviews.

    WOW, that is certainly interesting.
    Love that dual tip.
You need to buy one soon and give us a review...:D

Thieves cut my BAM when they stole my cats.
Going to send my damaged BAM back to Keith and swap my 10 for a 12.
But I'd sure be interested in how the X-Force works out you..
The price is comparable to a stainless BAM..
